Title: Had a good April's Fools Day?

We hope you had. As you probably suspected, any news posted shortly before April 1st, midnight (GMT+2) and now might or might not be true. We won't rename, neither is TI-Planet, the TI-83+ with TI-84+ hardware only exist in France, DJ Omnimaga isn't making any Justin Bieber cover (unless it's ironic) and nor Deep Thought or Juju became an evil computer or pony.

I would like to thank in no particular order Adriweb, Critor, Deep Thought, DJ Omnimaga, Excale, Levak and myself for making this year's pranks come true. Particularly Deep Thought for changing the Omnimaga themes to TI-Planet, Adriweb for providing both the idea and the various okay-looking photoshops for both Omnimaga and TI-Planet, Critor for making a pretty believable TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition.fr, DJ Omnimaga for his music prank and the picture above, Levak for making the TI-Planet background, myself for coordonating all those stuff together and TI-Planet as a whole for partnering with us and switching their logo, favicon and background to the Omnimaga one.

Also I think we were not the only ones with a name change idea. Cemetech became Comictech with Kerm resigning, Comicidiot replacing him. :D Ticalc also had a nice prank (although I hope Facebook like becomes a reality and that they eventually add subscriptions to authors)

Still waiting to see if the HP Prime is real or fake.

Correction: TI-Planet hacked Omnimaga and took it over by force, and we just now managed to muster up the courage to stand up to our French overlords and return Omnimaga to its former glory.

- lol at "ComicTech" x)
- I think ticalc's ideas listed in their fake news would provide them way more good if they actually made them happen (except the flash/java things, ofc)

I said this a lot yesterday but I actually think that theme looks pretty good :P
I really didn't know what to expect, so when I logged in I was pretty confused, good job :).

But I enjoyed it, and had fun speaking french is chat. :D

However, I think Ticalc.org is fine and should not start adding anything social-network-y to it.
Especially knowing that many don't have and don't WANT a user account on some of those sites.

I prefer it like TI-Planet where you can start a forum account normally or from Facebook, but don't have to. Today people hate creating new accounts everywhere but for privacy reasons it sucks when we are forced to use our Facebook account directly to post somewhere.

I totally agree. But here I should correct some typos:

There's no need. Want to buy a car? Just buy three. Filing tax returns? Three of them. Table for two? Table for three. Plus you don't have to worry about pronouncing un/une if you forget the thing's gender.

Given the circumstances at the time (it seemed like TI wanted to eliminate calc gaming entirely), many people were very scared.

They probably were convinced that this was real or was gonna happen in the not so distant future for real and they gave up on TI calcs >.<

Last year I did as a april fools joke that one of my ball machines was cancled, some people fell for it but nobody hated me afterwards or unsubbed me or something.....

Maybe it tried writing on the certificate or something. Or you applied the patch on an OS that was already patched with something else by mistake. In my case, all I got were RAM clears or such stuff.

The funny thing about OS 2.71MP is that I think the actual OS file is still available somewhere online. It was never deleted at the time; only the link to it was removed.
