Due to the extreme increasing unreliability of the current IRC server we are currently using (irc://unitedti.org, which is the same than irc://zathur.dragon-fire.org), I have been thinking about permanently moving the channel to another IRC network like Quakenet, Freenode, IRCnet, Undernet, etc. However most people would not follow, so what I will do is to set the IRC applet to connect to irc://azzuri.dragon-fire.org instead from now on. However if the services still keep going off all the time I will have no choice but using another network that has ChanServ on it, because it's not a big deal to not have any moderator privilege in your own channel every few days or so. At the moment UnitedTI SQL is down, so I cannot access the FTP anymore once again, so if you use the IRC applet at top of page, type /server azzuri.dragon-fire.org then /join #omnimaga to access the channel. It's the same IRC network, just a different server.

I believe Telroth is just doing some maintenance on the server.

test
ugh that was scary

yeah, Ive been getting that too.
-
i'd like it to stay on the current server or azzuri.
-
now i use azzuri but i still need to update the irc applet
-
I am too lazy to switch for most conditions. If you change networks xlibman, I will follow too.
-
I still think you should have stayed with efnet, since what you switched the UTIs for is at UTI..
-
EFnet rules -- not gonna lie.
-
well I talked to some ppl like iambian and they told me azzuri was more stable, telroth talked about linking the servers so if one go down it go to a new one. As for now I REALLY REALLY recommend you use irc://azzuri.dragon-fire.org , because it runs directly at telroth home so if it go down he can come here and bring it back up himself, and the IRC wont shut down everytime UTI go down then.
Imo efnet would be better if they enabled ChanServ, i dont have the will to use a botnet where non Omnimaga members have powers like the old Omnimaga channel, and i dont want to have to ask a botnet master everytime to give a new staff power, and having to wait several hours to do so. At least with chanserv i have all control on my channel. It's just my opinion tho and I think the move to UTI network was a great move as on efnet only 3 ppl visited the channel regulary and now we have near 15
-
Nope, EFnet is better, not to mention stable!
-
say what you want, I agree with xlibman, the control of the channel is much better with a chanserv server.
-
and also since Tifreak, Omnimaga, and Rivereye all use the UTI server for IRC people dont have to be connected to multiple servers to chat.
-
But #tcpa and #calcgames are on EFnet :)
-
and #ti
-
I like the added control of UTI, I plan on staying there.
-
Funny thing is... nobody really needs any control on #tcpa -- it's pretty much self-regulating.
-
yeah, but we have a more radically changing userbase.
-
Define "radically" in this context please -- I'm confused as to your statement.
-
well, TCPA has a userbase that is always there, not much change to it. While here, we are more dynamic.
