I am sorry to announce that Mapar007 is resigning from his Omnimaga staff position. The reason why Mapar007 is leaving is due to school and real life. It has become clear that he would no longer have free time to contribute to Omnimaga anymore, and thus, left staff. We wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
As for the contest, don't forget it is ending in 10 days. Make sure to backup frequently to not have a bad surprise at the last minute! Also note that contest prizes, while being paid by me, will be shipped by Rcfreak0, the one that owns this webspace since about April and is in charge of hosting payments starting on October 24th. Remember to send your entry to 2010axecontest [ A T ] gmail [ D O T ] com before September 16th 2010 at 12 AM GMT-5 and make sure it meets the requirements (http://ourl.ca/5976).
I will also begin to work on the new file archives section soon, my last contribution as site manager.

I'm sorry to hear about Mapar007 :( I wish you luck!

I'm sorry too about Mapar007 :(

Are you retiring too?
-
Ya, I think so to some extent. I believe he plans to hopefully stay around the forum but I think he will just be a regular member.
Is that right, DJ? Or did I get that wrong?
-
Sticking around, but most likely not as admin. Most likely COT since Supersonic Ball is not dead or file archiver when the archives are up. At the current rate they're gonna take a while be be setup, tho :/
-
Anything I can do to help with making the setup go faster or anything?
-
Well it will mostly involve setting new sections up. However, I need to make sure I don't screw things up like I did to the current sections. With the current sections, moving a file to another cause lot of errors. When staff add new ones, errors can occur too. I also have some tests I'll have to do.
For the archives there will be quality control that will eb done too. For sprite editors, for example, I may stop accepting them after we have a certain amount, except ones that stands out.

Ah ok. Well if I can do anything just let me know :) Good luck with it all.

I had in mind to eventually add moderators to the team, which could do some FA, but it would probably have similar policies as the rest of the staff regarding activity (although with you I doubt it would be much an issue)
-
What's "FA?" Ah ok.
-
FA means File Archiver
-
Ah ok, gotcha. Thanks. Would have never figured that one out without you telling me :P
-
It's OK. I think I am just used to ticalc.org file archivers and regulars to call file archives FA's :P
-
:P Ah ok. What does a File Archiver do exactly?
-
They just approve files people submit to ticalc.org archives. They make sure the file titles, descriptions and the like won't contain innapropriate content and if someone reports a file for any reason, they review it and remove it. Apparently due to ticalc.org age, it's a major PITA to do, though. Everything is supposedly done via command consoles. The site backend coding dates back in 1999-2000, with only a few modifications.

Oh, ok. I understand.
