It seems that Netham45 has forgotten to renew his domain name for the IRC logs and OmnomIRC, as the site now lands on a parked domain page. Since we do not know the exact directory location of his log files directly via the IP address, this means OmnomIRC will be once again offline for an undetermined amount of time. The domain name expiration is most likely unrelated to the recent issues, but as Netham45 is busy this means it could take a while before OmnomIRC returns.
In the future we plan to move OmnomIRC on a different server to avoid such constant downtimes.
UPDATE: Jimbauwens have helped us find Netham45.org original IP from a Google-cached IP scanner. SpyBot46, the post notifier, is now functional again and IRC logs can be accessed here (http://209.90.113.101/irc/EfNet/view.php?log=omnimaga¤t=true), but OmnomIRC will remain offline for a while because a part of what needs to be changed requires site FTP access, which I don't have anymore.
UPDATE 2: The large version of OmnomIRC (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=9) has been partially fixed. It will look screwy but hopefully it can do the job for a short while.
UPDATE 3(Netham45):OmnomIRC is back up.
-
SpyBot45 has been fixed.
-
x.X That scared me this morning. At least #omnimaga works (as of this morning). :)
-
Omnomirc is being worked on should be fixed by tonight as for the logs they can also be accessed at
http://irclogs.omnimaga.org /me <3 redirects
-
Wouldn't it be better to have this sub-domain go to the list of all logs including #ti, though? ???
-
That goes to a page where you can choose the irc logs of every day, but none of the links work, they all go to the 'dead' website of netham45.
-
replace the domain name with his ip ;)
-
yeah ill talk to netham about this later unless some one else does not much we can do atm to fix that :/
EDIT: sorry for that short time of not being able to post its what happens when a php newb(me) miss reads a statment and deleted 2 lines to many then uploads it to the wrong directory..... /facepalm
-
It's ok, at least Spybot seems to work fine now. :D
-
yeah no more double posting apparently in smf mods reverse = true for uninstallers =/= == true xD if i get time ill look into that later (for the record i blame genolo for this mishap now and there for am innocent..... j/k
-
Well to me it seems more like Netham45 might have forgotten to add the uninstall process in the mod, so when replacing his version with mine, it did not delete his completely. This happens with other SMF mods sometimes.
-
the uninstall thing is in his mod....i just cant tell if he added it or not but its fixedish.at least spybot works omnom will be runing soon as i get around to finishing the edits....and uploading them to the proper places xD
-
Yeah it's hard to tell really.
-
You know, I noticed that Omnimaga loads much faster without omnom!
At least it is not all bad. :)
ralphdspam is trying to stay optimistic in this time of sadness.
No! I'd rather have Omnom. :'(
-
Well I doubt Omnom is going away forever, though, so unfortunately you'll have to do with the slower loading when it return" D:
However maybe in the future Netham45 will be able to make it so it can be disabled per user basis.
-
is there any way we can do this without his hosting? Like, go for a little while without logs, (or maybe base them off a free .webs site) with higher moderator control? Or bots to catch all inappropriate stuff? Just an idea. either way it'll turn out fine I'm sure.
-
Unfortunately OmnomIRC relies on his logs. We need a dedicated connection to host such thing, and not all ISPs allows such thing. Hosting OmnomIRC server-side on our webhost wouldn't work.
-
At least as of this moment, OmnomIRC can be accessed from the full page OmnomIRC. (It's that link at the top that says IRC (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=9#Omnom))
-
Alright i will not be re-enabling omnomirc at this time globally as until netham changes some code on his server side it displays his parked page in the users bar space...unless i find a way to edit it out for now till then use the big one if you want it omnom will be up soon as netham gets to doing his edits
-
My domain didn't expire, but the domain that it went to for its DNS did. I've re-registered the other domain, it should come back within 6 hours or so.
Also, my mod uninstalls just fine if it hasn't been edited. That was one of the things I made sure of.
-
Strangely enough, your other domain worked fine for me. ???
-
Yeah, it works fine now :)
-
Strangely enough, your other domain worked fine for me. ???
It's down for me right now.
-
I guess it didn't propagate for me yet. I think some ppl won,t have anymore OmnomIRC access for 2-3 days that's for sure, because when the site moved, some couldn't access Omnimaga for that long.
-
I got it all back up, at least on my end. I set all my stuff to go by IP.
-
Ah good. After all that IP won't change regularly too.
-
Shouuld we just leave it this way seeing as your ip *shouldent* change unless your internet plan goes down which im sure you would give us plenty of warning for right?
-
That IP is a rented static IP, it won't change.
-
Ah ok good. On a side note since the small online list works, couldn't you copy the code to the large OmnomIRC? I notice it works fine on the small one but not the large one. Also it would be nice to turn forum users into links.
-
i think thats my fault i broke something when i was messing with things....and i cant remeber what it was ;.;
-
Ok but what I mean is couldn't you just take the code from the other user list and copy it? ???
-
thats why its broken........cause i accidently the original.....
/me runs like hell
-
But the original works fine. See every page ???
I meant copying the tiny OmnomIRC version in the large one.
-
the tiny and large ones have slight differences i copied the tiny ones over to the big ones cause i lost The big ones now it don't work :/ dont know what is missing :/ now
-
Ah ok, then I don't know what he changed. X.x
-
I think it was Geeks fault. <_<
Fixed.
-
Lol ok. :P Nice to see it fixed.
-
This reminds me that we should have some backups (and I'm sure we do)
But it's nice to see everything's back to normal.
-
Yeah I hope Eeems still performs backups of the database regularly. It would suck if something very bad happened. If we lose 3 months of posts, for example, that's about 30000 posts total, along with several news articles, important topics, updates, etc.
