A new board was added on the forums. It is called "Humor and jokes", which includes all the related topics that were originaly located in the member-only Randomness board. Like the Randomness board, which has now been renamed to "Spam", post counts won't increase in this section, but as a difference it is visible to guests and it won't get disabled when its content represents more than 10% of the entire board. The spam board now includes pointless nonsense, board games, test topics and topics people wanted to be member-only.
Currently I am browsing through the hundreds of topics that are located in Randomness, moving many in the appropriate sections. You have no idea how many times I lost the game by doing this...
On other news, our record streak of days above 300 posts has just ended tonight, at 23 days in a row. The streak started on March 11th. The previous record was 13 days, from December 3rd to 15th.

Cool. It was confusing what, exactly, Randomness was for, and now we know. :)
IMO, I still think there should be a board for serious topics that is invisible to guests. But that's just me.

Before the streak started it was 299 and when it ended 283. That was the streak, by the way:

The last one in December was this:
337, 584, 524, 422, 381, 464, 374, 469, 449, 376, 595, 418, 421
But then there was some sort of activity collapse (probably due to holiday vacations then school). April is probably gonna be the same way due to the bulk of Spring Breaks and then Easter breaks, so a lot of people are gonna be away with no internet access then become busy with the end of school, so if you get fewer feedback on your projects it doesn't mean people don't care or something.

March 31st and April 1st were kinda inflated by OS 2.71MP. :P The result of all the heart attacks are probably what caused the suddent slowdown afterward. :P
Nah but I'm surprised the end of March was so active considering last year we went under 100 for a while then (and the end of March 2009 wasn't that active either IIRC).

I was just going through some other stats and one streak we need to keep up is at least 10,000 new posts per month. Last month we got 10,044 posts which just barely made it. Last time we were under 10,000 was in September. Also we almost made 1,000,000!!! :w00t: :hyper: :w00t: :hyper: page views in March. We were just under with 943192 views. Perhaps in the near future we can reach this benchmark if we have enough cool projects. Keep up the good work everyone :thumbsup:

Keep in mind Feb was just 28 days long, though. If we go by daily average for each month it would go this way for all months we had over 10000 total:

Currently, Apr averages at 384.
Hopefully there will be more people interested in joining, coding and posting in the future. I hope to get at least more active posting in the near future. April/May are just so busy IRL for me sometimes. X.x

Yeah same here, although I doubt it. The reason why we got so many trolls at once in Feb was because nDoom was featured on several hardcore gamers sites and unfortunately most gamers on the Internet are jerks, especially FPS/RTS fans. To get that many trolls at once again we would need to get a popular game port featured again on such sites. The only other haters I could think of are people from the community that dislikes our strict policies against trolls and different humor and rude people, but these people generally don't cause us harm directly, they only say bad things in our back on certain other TI channels.

Graphmastur does bring up a point there. We need to be more careful when we release epic projects like doom. Just imagine the chaos if we ever ported Crysis to the Prizm or CX. I'm not sure how we can be more careful, but there must be a way, somehow ???

Lol. Well... personally I don't think we should avoid getting recognition outside the community, though. We already have a few people bashing us non-stop on a certain other IRC chatroom because of our different sense of humor, stricter policies against trolls and different views (and the fact they cannot accept that other people are allowed to have different views too), so that can altready prevent us from getting as many new members as we could, if these members only take the first version they see, so we need to not prevent new signs up in the first place.
What we need to do is promote major stuff anyway, but when an hardcore game gets picked up on a gamer site, we just gotta get prepared and as soon as we notice a giant influx in troublemakers we lock the IRC channel down. Forums are not a big problem. The issue is that we were too lax on the first few that joined.
