Here's the Version 0.95 release. I'd appreciate it if you guys would let me know which levels were the easiest, and which were the hardest. ;D Thanks!
For those of you who want the easiest levels, I recommend 1, 3, 21, 22, and 23. :)

OMG nice! Idk when I'll be able to try it but I hope to be able to, soon. Nice job so far :D
Were there any improvements besides the new levels, like faster speed and new features?

Yes, faster speed (on enemy movement) and new features (like the Controls). ;D
-
Cool :D. I think I notice the speed change now. Nice job :D
This really should get featured when finished.
-
playing it now :)
edit: finished. oddly enough, the level that gave me the most trouble was my own: impos :(
-
Nice. This means it is very good ;D (providing it is actually possible to beat at all :P)
-
lol yeah, it's possible to beat. albeit very tricky (: there was another level that stumped for awhile.. i think it was 15? it came right after the levels that were in the previous beta.
-
Aah ok. If you find it hard I would prbly not even be able to beat it, because I suck pretty bad at puzzles. I can't even beat the first default level of Donut Quest.
-
Looks nice! I'll try it out tomorrow or something :)
The only problem I have with Donut Quest is that (last?) level where you put the donuts together in the basement. I completed the others in like half an hour.
-
Wow nice
I really feel like I am the worst around this board for puzzle solving. Everyone seems to be able to beat those Donut Quest levels easily while I can't x.x

Second to last. :)

It's okay DJ. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. :)
-
Okay, so far I completed the first 15 levels and I say they are pretty addictive. :) Here is my opinion on the difficulty of each level using a 1-5 scale (1 being the easiest, 5 being very hard):
Level 1 - 1
Level 2 - 2
Level 3 - 1
Level 4 - 2
Level 5 - 3
Level 6 - 3
Level 7 - 3
Level 8 - 4
Level 9 - 4
Level 10 - 4
Level 11 - 5
Level 12 - 4
Level 13 - 2
Level 14 - 1
Level 15 - 2
I plan on completing the other levels maybe tomorrow or the day after and provide another update. :D
BTW, I should probably upload screenshots on how to beat Donut Quest someday in the Game Walkthroughs section. ;)
-
Thank you PatriotsFan! I can't wait to see the rest of them. :)
I think I'd rank level 2 a little higher, though. :)

Yeah, but I remember completing Level 2 on the first try. Could be a 3 though. :)

That would be cool! Make sure to set them at 9 fps in wabbitemu, though, so the page won't load too slowly.

But I think I'm going to pack them into a zip file so that shouldn't matter.
-
Ah ok :)
Will you also explain a bit how to beat each levels?
-
Sure. I've got a few of them completed already so I might make a quick write up when I have time. :)
-
Actually Meishe91 is ninja'ing you in the walkthrough thread now :P
You might want to start with the last levels first :P

Yeah, I see. Guess he got a good head start on me. :P
-
I didn't really. I just remembered, recorded the first two levels real fast, then posted it :P
-
Ah ok I see :D. It will be nice to have all levels screenshotted though :D
I guess it could be contributed by other people and you can edit the first post in that thread.

Wow, awesome job! This is the most fun BASIC game I've ever played...
EDIT: 900!

EDIT: 900!
Thank you. It means a lot coming from you, as a couple weeks before I made this I saw Absolute Insanity's first ever screenshot. I liked how the enemies moved around and made a mental note of it. Later when I was on vacation I made the engine for this, and included enemies inspired by what I remembered of your screenie. ;D

My enemies don't even move, though :(

Well I have all them now so unless people do the original Donut Quest levels there is no need now :P
-
Inspiration != Direct port of them. ;D

So here are the rest of the levels:
Level 16 - 4
Level 17 - 3
Level 18 - 5
Level 19 - 5
Level 20 - 5
Level 21 - 1
Level 22 - 1
Level 23 - 1
Level 24 - 4
-
As a brief update to this, I have the level order in place and a system for choosing levels that's too incredibly epic. I want it to be a surprise, though. It's really epic, though. I still have some features to add... :)
-
Well, I can't wait for the epicness! :P
-
When do you think v1.00 final will come out? :D
-
Within a month; it depends on how sidetracked I get with other projects. :P
I'll announce a week in advance the deadline for the epicness. ;D
-
Ah good to hear :)
I still think this deserves a feature when this comes out :)
Although personally I think Donut QUest should get featured too (although I do not hold very high respect to cheating screenshots to make games look faster than they are and despite the extremly hard difficulty, the game is so good that it still deserves it IMHO)
(btw, by cheating screenshots, I mean when authors speed up their calc screenshots so the game looks like it runs extremly fast, to boost their downloads counts, giving false hopes to people. Some people even hide the busy indicator)
-
Actually, I learned about that on Darkerline's (now defunct) blog. I'll see if I can paraphrase:
Darkerline: I don't have a rom for an emulator.
Someone else: You could use TI's emulator.
Darkerline: Okay.
See, the fail here is TI's. :P
Here's the program that I loathe most of all for increasing the speed of screeines: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/425/42500.html (Read Kerm's review for the truth)
-
Oh right, he used the Flash Debugger x.x. That might explain why then. I know some people purposely speed up their screenshots, though, or used to do so. The only time I ever did was when I made a 15 Mhz game but had no 15 MHz calc ROM/emulator to screenshot from. There was an era where no decent SE emu existed x.x
What I often see are 3D engines loading almost instantly, but in fact it takes about 1 minute to render each frame.

This game is nearing completion. It looks very professional with interesting levels!
Great job ztrumpet! ;)
