Title: nSDL 0.3.0: First portage of a game
Post by: Juju on May 14, 2012, 11:39:51 pm
Hoffa released last Friday the version 0.3.0 of his port of SDL to the TI-Nspire, nSDL (http://ourl.ca/14975/301333). In this version, along with his usual batch of new features and bugfixes, instead of having a version of the libraries and executables for each variation of Nspire (CX, non-CX, CAS, non-CAS), Hoffa combined all of them in one single version, so your executable should work on every Nspire. Speed and space difference should be negligible though. Also this is pretty much the first version existing SDL games can be ported without problems. Several small games has already been ported by hoffa: a CHIP-8/SCHIP emulator and a space shooter game found somewhere on the Web.

You can download the library here (http://hoffa.github.com/nSDL/).

That is great, I wonder how many SDL games that there are... it would be great if they could all be ported eventually. :)

How many? I think there's tons of them. SDL is one of the most popular multi-plateform graphic libraries.

This is another major step towards the TI-Nspire openness. Great job hoffa!
