Title: Obliterate PRIZM beta released
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on May 24, 2011, 12:24:41 pm
KermMartian has started to port his TI-83 Plus Scorched Earth clone to the new Casio fx-cg10/20 calculator series and a single-player beta is now available on Cemetech (http://cemetech.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=151398#151398). Here is a video of the game in action:

As you will see sometimes with the AI as well as at the end of the video, there are some glitches since it isn't finished yet, but it still looks great and promising.

UPDATE (May 25th 2011): A beta version of the game has now been released! Download it here (http://www.cemetech.net/programs/index.php?mode=file&path=/prizm/games/oblitr8.zip)! Kerm also made a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69AqbWiGbUY) of the updated game as well.

I have no Prizm, but I have one comment other than awesome:
Spoiler For Gabe Newell reference:

Unless he did a very recent update, this is the one he let me alpha test recently.  It's rather nice to play, but still think it's too cramped for space and explosions should be red ;D

Yes the game still has much more work to do as there are some bugs and the AI and some of the physics are not implemented yet. It does though give a good representation of what is possible on the Prizm and future games we will see.

Actually i didn't find the space to be as cramped as from the screenshots, but I agree maybe smaller tanks would be better. Maybe the option to choose the size?

And yeah I think this is the same version. It is the only one I could find on Cemetech.

This looks really nice.  I especially like the main menu. :)

I saw the video of this and it really looks awesome, as I've said told to Kerm, I really hope more cool games like this are developed by Kerm ;)
