Since August 2007, the #omnimaga IRC channel was blocked to people who use UPC Internet service provider, due to repeated ban evasions from a member on our black list. In 2008, Twente University was also blocked, due to ban evasions by another member. Both were unblocked for a short period of time later, but a spam attack that was launched in the IRC channel by both users forced us to ban the entire ISP and university again. Since it has been so long since the incidents occured, we thought it would be a good occasion to give the unbanning of both *utwente.nl and *chello.nl another try, especially that it sucks that half of an entire country had to be banned from our IRC channel for this long.
In 2007, we also had to ban Wanadoo ISP (now Orange) as a whole from the channel, including both *wanadoo.fr and *noos.fr hostmasks, as we were invaded by spambots from there. This ban lasted one year and affected most of France country.

wow nice to have them unbanned hopefully they will be able to stay this way for a long while :) it stinks having such a large amount of people banned for so long

Yeah. I wish some ppl didn't ruin it for so many ppl. I hope the troublemakers won't return x.x, but this time I think if they do I will just ban their IP over and over. Now that the entire staff got IRC chanop priviledges and that some non staff do as well, it should be easier.
