After many requests, Omnimaga finally got a page on Facebook here (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Omnimaga/179942622030878). In the future, we may eventually relay website news links and some of our videos there so people can get updated from Facebook too, so they may check Omnimaga faster for more information.
A Facebook "Like" box and a link to the page was added on the front page in the left side bar.
In the future, we may also get a Twitter page and add a few more social network/news site features on Omnimaga such as link submissions, although we have no plan to start a discussion board on Facebook, since we already have the Omnimaga forums anyway.

Yeah that's my plan, although commenting on FB updates will probably be enabled. Just not a discussion board there. The latter was why I was relunctant about creating a FB page for the past 3 years, despite requests, but now it seems easier to link a FB page to a website in particular.

Yeah, I've noticed that it's easier too. They have made quite a few good improvements.

Yeah I added all Omni admins as admin on the page... at least those that joined it.

Makes sense, after all, we all should be able to post news on it when others aren't around.

No, I think it's a bad idea. Some people may want a certain level of privacy. I know some ppl only have real-life friends on their FB profile.

Ya that's what I meant. I just mean do not just plain post everyone's nickname+name combination all over the place. :P

I doubt that that is even possible :S
Yes it is, go to your profile and you get a unique link for it in the url bar. People who aren't your friend can't see more then what you set in the privacy options though, which is a good thing.

woo! Facebook. Very happy about this. I always seem to miss the important stuff until a week afterwards. This time, I was distracted by the demos that came with axe. Sadly, even though I had a cemetech tab open, I missed the calculator posting. I missed the facebook by a few days. Anyway, I'm back(for now)

Are you eventually planning to return? I remember you said something about trying to finish regular school as soon as possible and I thought it was due to end in September 2010, but finally it never did.
Also I think there are at least 10 people in the list I don't even know. :P
