oh, do excuse the lack of info, I was only wondering, I have intentions of being staff right now, I have way too much stuff on my platter :)
And as for releases, nothing but pserpg atm, I think I need more knowledge (I will plan something with the C# project of SirC tho)

It depends, so far you seemed kinda good coding-wise. I haven't seen a lot of progress on Builder lately, though. D:

Anyway, as I said in the other topic, we will probably not process new applications until November 1st. At that date those who applied will see their application reviewed by the other staff. Note that while a position in the team involves mostly priviledges (sub-forums for all your calc projects and the ability to upload your stuff in the staff downloads section) and only a few requirements (keeping a certain activity minimum, coding/project-wise), you also need to be kinda responsible in some ways. As staff you got additional moderation privileges so you must be careful to not accidentally do something wrong like deleting an entire topic or merging it with another. And if something wrong occured the entire community would know anyway. :P You do not have to use those privileges, but we recommend some help if we ever had a huge spambot invasion or something. Also if you use a shared computer, you must logout everytime you leave the site, so bro and sister won't mess with the site.

Builder is a dead project. I was using it as a test program for some code structure and routines. The only programs I'm working on currently are TI-explorer and Black. They've both been halted because some important results came up in my job and I'm just generally a busy person.

Oh ok, sorry to hear :(. I hope you eventually become less busy so you can code again. :)

That will hopefully happen in a few weeks, once I can finish my stuff and get it shipped out to UC for them to deal with.

Meh, I've only contributed one program so far, plus I'm pretty busy atm, so I'll have to pass.
Got to build up my portfolio, so to speak, right?
Honestly, the only programs I'd released before joining Omni staff were Drifter (UTI, Omni, TIBD, ticalc), Oasis (Omni, UTI, TIBD), and Nibbler (Omni only).  This was it, and if you find Nibbler and Oasis, you'll see that they were tiny projects.  I guess what I'm trying to say here is that you don't need a large portfolio, you just need some fun projects in progress (Elmgon, HGP) and the drive to staff such a great forum. ;D
As for how busy you are, that's something that's hard to overcome, and I don't have any advice on it. ;)

I'm not sure if I have the skill, or time, though.  I can help with spambots and such, but I'm not sure about banning, etc.  I will keep working on the project, though. ;-)

My website: Currently boring.

Projects:

   > Memory: Need write code to add constants.
   > Graphics: Rewritten.  Needs to integrate sprites with constants.
   > IO: GetKey done.  Need to add mostly homescreen IO stuff.
Croquette:
   > Stomping bugs
   > Internet version: On hold until I can make my website less boring/broken.

I would try to join, but I'm swamped with Pre-Cal class. I get copious amounts of homework each night, from that class alone. Once I had 2.5-3 hours of homework from that class. The worst part? It was like the 2nd or 3rd homework assignment for the entire class. Thankfully, it hasn't been that bad since, but one never knows...

Spoiler For Projects:

My projects haven't been worked on in a while, so they're all on hiatus for the time being. I do hope to eventually return to them in some form or another...

Spoiler For Pokemon TI:
Axe port of Pokemon Red/Blue to the 83+/84+ family. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia:
My big personal project, an original RPG about dimensional travel and a few heroes tasked with saving the world.
Coding-wise, on hold, but I am re-working the story.

Spoiler For Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Prequel to Nostalgia. On hold, especially while the story is re-worked.

I would try to join too, but I have too much going on, and thus not enough time to work on projects and such.

What Ztrumpet said. However, one thing is for sure: We do not accept text-only projects. I don't mean ASCII, but I mean total lack of graphics, like menu-based RPGs or the like. And of course, to keep our game dev side, I won't accept math/science projects either, even if they are very great.

Personally something I try to look carefully into when adding staff is personality. Unfortunately there are many people that I never got to chat with, so I do not know them as much, but I try to check their forum posts and then I ask other staff if they think the member should be added in the team. Someone that used to be part of this forum keeps telling me that I add people too fast to the team, but I believe that so far our way worked pretty well compared to the old board. I do not take that person seriously in what he says, though, as he was permanently banned almost 2 years ago, but he would be perfectly right about the original Omnimaga community in 2006-07. I want to make sure to have some staff with different views in the team so it is easier to take some decisions not too fast, but at the same time, I want to make sure to not end up with a staff member who wants us to allow any form of trolling/newbie bashing then start a fight everytime someone gets banned, or stuff like that. That happened on the old board back in 2007 and it didn't seem like a community as much as the new site is. I feel on the new site people are closer to each other but there are many new members I do not know very well yet.

Yeah the current staff application run doesn't really have a time limit. However, there are many people who applied and I see at least 5 that will get in. For now I might cap the staff total at 15 and as the site grows larger, I might go back to the old forum levels. To be honest, there are some people who applied who haven't been active on the forums for long enough yet and I do not know them well enough, so I am afraid they're gonna have to wait for a few rounds. With either some changes from them or longer activity, they might stand a chance later, though. Silver Shadow took 3 attempts to get in.
