If you look closely at OmnomIRC, you'll see two new links at the top.
One of them will say either "Français" or "English". This will toggle the chat between the English channel and the French channel (#omnimaga and #omnimaga-fr, respectively). With this, French users can now use OmnomIRC to have a conversation in their language of choice!
The other, "Disable OmnomIRC" makes OmnomIRC stop updating, so users who are on slow computers and/or slow internet connections no longer need to be placed in a group that completely disables OmnomIRC.
These settings are both cookie based, so they will not transfer between computers/browsers.
The third update is that I'm now using a different method for getting the messages to my server, so you no longer have to type 5 '\'s to get a single one.
Today's Logs, This Year's logs, and Java chat now all respect the current channel setting, and will forward to the proper page
Edit: If you are just minimizing OmnomIRC to disable it, could you please hit 'Disable' before minimizing it to help reduce load on my server.
UPDATE (23:29): OmnomIRC now supports highlighting. When someone says your nickname, text will show up in bold red color.

Yay a very welcome feature! Hopefully this should help the #omnimaga-fr become active again. :D
Also the disable OmnomIRC thing means I can pretty much eliminate the regular member group, right? (It was also used to ban people from omnomIRC, but now it's possible to ban from the channel)
Also I think it's better that it's cookie-based, since one member might have a computer where OmnomIRC is fine, but not the other.
Do you think rules could also redirect to the french rules page when in FR mode?

Eitherway, Netham45 had some problems with OmnomIRC and the sidebar and other stuff were disabled.

Yeah you might want to check the topic saying it's broken. However, clearing your cache in FF and Chrome fixes it. Maybe Netham45 could move the files, change the cookie settings and rename them to force a cache update?
Also, Levak is suggesting to put Spybot45 in #omnimaga-fr.

Can the "larger chat view" button be changed to "smaller chat view" in the larger chat and have it go to the smaller chat. linking to the new posts page or something?
Also, spybot posts cause highlighting.

Yeah it would be nice. I think when Netham45 updates the default chat he copies the code over the large one and don't change the link. :P It should go back to the board index I think, or the front page.
And I noticed about Spybot too. I wonder if it was intentional?

It wasn't exactly intentional having it highlighted, I just never check who sends the message.

Ah ok.
I was gonna suggest to ignore messages from Spybot45 for the highlighting, so it won't highlight you when you post, but now I am realizing this can be useful in some ways, because posts from different users won't show up the same way, making them easier to distinguish from yours.
By the way how is the checking done? Does it check the top of the page to see as who are you logged in? I hope this is not too demanding on the server. X.x

I added the username to the request to my server, it's all done on my end.
It's really small code, too.

Another thing I wonder is if Efnet would allow you to connect one extra bot? You could have a SpyBotFR/SpyBotF2 that only notifies of French posts and the other only English. That way, people who only posts in the French section and use the IRC channel directly could set SpyBot45 and 46 on /ignore or vice-versa.

Also I don't think the french channel needs to be notified of all the posts, only the french forums.

Nah it doesn't Zippydee, unfortunately. However IRC lets you do so.
As for the French chan I thought it might be good to be notified of both, since a lot of French people frequents the english section for the most part.

Well, I thought the French people would just watch the English channel to get notified of English posts.
Also it makes HUGE walls of Spybot notifications.

The issue is that there is less talking in the French channel, so spybot ends up flooding the whole thing with post notifications :\

Sometimes, in firefox portable, this shows up instead of a user list

I guess you're right about notifications, though. We could split french and english. However maybe some people will only visit the french chan and not the english one, so they won't get notified of important activity from the English section.

Yeah I noticed that earlier. It seems that sometimes the server is unable to make the connection with netham45 host or vice-versa.

Maybe say somewhere that updates in the French channel are ONLY from the French forum posts, not the English posts. Place that in the topic or something. Even so, it's just mildly annoying. Nothing too serious.

Yeah that could be an idea if it fits there. We don't update the topic much anymore anyway (in the FR chan, it still said Ndless 1.7 just came out). However I asked Netham45 to modify Spybot45 to split post notices between channels depending of the language, to no avail. :(
