Title: Prizm OS 1.04 available
Post by: fxdev on March 14, 2012, 06:04:37 pm
The new OS (http://edu.casio.com/products/cg_series/fxcg10_20/) adds an auto-parentheses insertion feature and the list of supported projectors has been updated. Also, there is a new version of the Geometry add-in.

The updated manual lists a new Prizm device: fx-CG20 CN
Could be a Chinese version.

They released two 1.04 updaters. One CG10- and one CG20-version. But I couldn't detect any difference.  ??? Accordingly my CG20 didn't complain, when using the CG10-version for the update.

the auto parentheses and bug fixes could be helpful to basic programmers, but, otherwise, it doesn't look like it.

Obviously, they decided to no longer produce two different setups for the same firmware version.

Does this block custom add-ins? I haven't read any reports about that yet, but I haven't been able to visit Cemetech much (which has a similar topic) to investigate more.

I found this surprising to see an update shortly after the end of the Cemetech contest and the recent e-mails informing community users that no SDK would be done, so I got scared they went the same direction as TI and purposely block 3rd-party softwares, but if they did not bother doing so, then it's good news.

The posts I've seen have all said that add-ins seem to work just like before.

hmm.. my calc does not seem to auto-insert parentheses and it has 1.04.

How does the auto-insertion work?
