Back in 2004 DJ Omnimaga (http://www.omnimaga.org/profile/DJ_O/) released his grayscale BASIC RPG "Reuben Quest: Ev Awakening". Just a bit of time ago now member Sorunome (http://www.omnimaga.org/profile/Sorunome/) finished his port of the game to the AXE Parser Language. This port of the game is a Single Page Application + a few archived data files in size. This means it requires less then half the space of the original to run! This port also works on the original 83+ which the original did not!
So get ready to play as Rueben and fight evil monsters, solve some puzzles, and save the island!
Download the game on ticalc.org (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/459/45993.html)

Yay ! :D Once again, congrats Soru !

Hehe, thanks ^.^

Correction: The original did run on the regular 83+. It just looked like crap and ran awfully slow :P
Also, wouldn't it be better to use a screenshot from the gameplay (preferably a small one, even if it means a static GIF) to showcase it to those viewing the front page? A screenshot of the in-game menu is not a big seller. :P
-
That's what sorunome gave me I can spruce it up in a moment.
Edit: Done!
-
Wow, the screenshot given looks pretty cool! If it were not for the fact that the TI-84+CSE had a different screen resolution, I would totally download and play this game! (http://forum.pixbits.com/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
(Note: All smilies that I use that aren't familiar come from a different forum that I'm a member of, under the same name)

I really meant in-game gameplay, though :P (eg walking around, opening the menu once and doing one battle)

Eh the opening cutscene is flashy enough the ticalc page has all of that >.>
-
Thanks for unlocking this topic btw :P

Oh, I thought it didn't work there :P

This is pretty awesome! I can't wait to see the speed and the nostalgia since I played the original. :)
-
Hehe, thanks! :D

By the way, good job for the 135 downloads in a week (stats are broken since ticalc.org moved the file to a different directory, but they fixed the overall download count). Many featured programs tend to not get that many nowadays unless it's the start of school year.
-
Shame my download ain't in that count. ._. Fixing that now.
-
Hehe, thanks, it still gets quite a few downloads, IMO :P
EDIT: is there any way to tell how many downloads i have from tiplanet?
-
Downloaded from ticalc this morning, it's totally epic. :D
-
thanks ^.^

Yes. "Téléchargements : 7"

Keep in mind that TI-Planet uploads dozens of school notes/exam infos on a daily basis, though, so the file got off the latest files list very fast, not to mention most TI-Planet users go there for educational programs rather than games, let alone RPGs, which aren't popular in France.
-
Congrats on the release an feature!

For RPGs they only come to get a copy of Pokémon. :-°
-
Indeed. But yeah aside from that RPG historically never were much popular on French calc forums. I think it's because most big SNES RPG hits only came out in North America and Japan (although for Terranigma you were luckier than us)
-
The game is awesome... Though it took me 2 days to beat.
-
Yes its really epic! thanks for this work!
-
Haha, thanks!
Glad you like it! :)
