Yay it'll be down while I sleep.

Yay it'll be down when I'm at school. :P
-
Will the entire site content vanish forever? O.O
Just kidding, good luck and keep those backups going in case lol :P
(Also I guess that either Friday night or the evening afterward are good times to perform such maintenance, since there is rarely anyone ever using the forums then)
-
Yay during school :P
-
hm....i don't have school on that day, i guess i'll have to knex some then instead xD

There are auto backups of the whole site happening every year, month, week and day. The database is synced with another one of my servers every single time something changes.

I will most likely be asleep or close by then, then head to work when the site is about to be back up.

Then I reset the root password and reset my password. Also, my host panel login is stored on my home computer (which I'm not worried about for security due to 2-factor authentication).

How did this go? I noticed that the site was up this morning and no one talked about any downtime on IRC. Did it happen or was it postponed to a later date?
-
According to my IRC logs, I never noticed any downtime (or else OmnomIRC, Omnom and/or Eeems would had gone down), even noticed OmnomIRC convos during that period, so yeah I assume everything went well.
-
Apparently the maintenance was more on host side, not admins.

Well that is what I said in the first post if you notice it. I'm not sure why there was no downtime, but they sent me an email saying that it was going to happen. No idea why it didn't.

Well, but did that what was supposed to change change? If yes, why worry? :3
