To survive making their time for great justice, as an emergency measure, Omnimaga staff needs extra zigs to counter the recent upsurge in trolling on the forums (multiple account takeover attempts, ban evasion, a calculator brands war and abuse of the Randomness section), which is probably a side effect of the increasing site popularity due to Ndless, the GB emulators and due to having branched out towards Casio Prizm and FX-9860G development. While the Coders of Tomorrow and team and managers can moderate the forums fine, the majority are offline between 12 AM and 8 AM GMT-5 and exams makes them frequenting the forum less often as well. I also do not perform such tasks anymore normally. This is why, after discussing about it for a while, today we are altering the Non-staff IRC chan-ops to become a forum moderator group as well. Not only all #omnimaga operators will have a certain level of moderator privileges on the forums, but several new members were added to the team as well.
The staff rules that will apply to these people are the moderation ones, which covers how to enforce rules (we have a policy to not delete any post and simply editing illegal content from them, for example, although all spambot posts can be deleted). Hopefully, with the addition of the following members to the new moderator group, when we are on the way to destruction, we should have more zigs... er... banhammers to take off.
Let's congratulate Meishe91, Calcdude84se, Art_of_camelot, Geno, z80man and Xeda112358 for their addition to the purple group and to all people that were already in for the increased privileges!

I am upset that omni is having problems with trolls and spam and other nefarious activities, but I am glad that measures are being taken to counteract such activities and to prevent them from happening again.

Yeah it was hectic. Sometimes it seems like a conspiracy or something, even if it's not the case, since all the people involved had no relation with each others. Everything just all happened at once and this happened 2 weeks after other incidents.
The good thing, though, is that we also got a lot of new members that are good, though.
That reminds me, now I need to modify the group to add mod privileges :P (They'll be the same as what COT had on the old board)

For some reasons I thought it was weird as purple because COT is green and managers blue, so purple looked like it was higher than admin. :P Now it's a color similar to what COT had on the other forums.

Throughout the years the TI community has faced rough times with constantly changing boards and being completely wiped out in 2008. Also one thing I am happy about is that the trolling that occured was mostly the typical trolling you find on the Internet from script kiddies, not attempts at discouraging people from working on their projects (like what people did to Kerm on another forum, although some comments were very helpful) or starting unnecessary language wars in the TI-BASIC section. I also remember at one time on certain boards when a newbie asked a question he got told to JFGI or got called a n00b instead of getting pointed politely to the search function and some topic links. Those are the worst that could happen to the TI community.

On my temporary journey back into admin, I'll probably add a red notice at the top of the Login page encouraging public computer users to uncheck the remember me box and to set a very low login time, such as 5 minutes, or simply not log in altogether.
Might it be possible so the "log in forever" option on the front page is by default unchecked?
Edit: well, it's not a checkbox, but you get what I mean :P

I'M not sure. I don't think so, but IIRC I can change the default login time.
There'll definitively be a warning box, though.
I hope people are more careful securizing their account.

Speaking of security, I should change my password to a more secure one... My current is unsecure and is written everywhere on the wall of a classroom at school. Fortunately, nobody had the idea to go troll on Omnimaga on my behalf, even though they knows it exists, seems they only restricts themselves to Minecraft.

its not a font. ;) pixel by pixel. I just copied letters that could be reused, and made new ones. ;)
EDIT: could someone make it transparent? GIMP isn't working for me for some reason and Paint can't do that. D:

That looks nice. I think the A might have to be modified slightly, though, to remove the white thing inside it or simply make the hole 1 pixel less wide.
I'm not too sure about including the list on front page, though, since this group is kinda exempt from most staff rules the main Omnimaga team has. It's more like the UTI Members/Supporters group on United-TI, but with a few extra mod privileges and additional boards access. The list on the front page would also be huge with 30+ staff and I fear those ppl would be bugged with moderation requests all the time by members.
EDIT: Someone will have to upload this at the same location as the other two images (right-click->properties) on the server. They have to upload it in every theme folder, if I remember, but I'm not sure anymore.
Btw the fonts used in the otehr 2 images are Narkisim or something like that. It's the exact same font I used in the Omnimaga banner slogan and some of my vids.

They got access to the chan-op board, which was renamed to also moderators. They do not have access to the staff board, the admin one and the trash bin, though.

Not just there but in every theme folder, for example omnimaga4old, omnimaga3, omnimaga3old, omnimaga4fixedbg or whatever they were called.

Yeah that part is the hardest to figure out, especially if you never used FTP clients before. There are plenty of fields to fill and you need to figure out where the site stuff is located. To add it to member groups it's just changing a link in the Admin CP.
