This isn't very new, but recently Chokosta has released a TI-Nspire CX Lua version of Mazes 3D, the first ever calculator game to feature both 3D-looking graphics and colors at once. It is also possible to enable or disable a mini-map by pressing M or to reduce the graphics resolution and quality to increase the framerate. It is written in Lua, so it is texture-less and much slower than nDoom, but it is still very impressive and shows more examples of what can be done with Lua. Here is an animated screenshot below:

You can download the game here (http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=3699) and discuss it here (http://ourl.ca/12034).

This looks awesome :D
-
Indeed, looks pretty cool.
-
Damn this is nice. I need a CX...
-
Wow, if someone could do this on the prizm, really sweet job.
-
I don't think so. The only language I am aware is available right now is Basic.
-
IIRC there's also C and SH3 are open. Also things like java are being developed.
-
Hmm that would be cool actually ! O.O
-
Wait, Java on the Prizm?

Nice!
-
Yes I hope minecraft source will be released and I get a prizm minecraft for the prizm FTW
-
As usual, great work Chocosta! :D
-
Yeah, don't count on the Minecraft source to be an easy port: There isn't exactly OpenGL support on the prizm.
Imagine nCaster in C on the prizm....
/me drools.
-
C and asm is available for the Prizm, but proper Java support might not happen for a very long time. Even if we manage to run some kind of Java program, that doesn't mean that the VM is complete.
-
Wow. Gotta get CX
-
love the CX
-
Damn, that's pretty cool.
What FPS does it run at ?
-
Approximately 4-5 frames per second in default resolution mode. If I press the L key to enable low resolution, I get 10 fps. If I resize the screen down I get a small performance boost too, but it cannot go above 10 FPS, because keypresses are only detected every 0.1 seconds in Lua.
Oh by the way welcome on the forums NecroBumpist. I hope you will not necropost too much O.O (seeing your nickname)

hehe, this would be very epic. :D

maybe someone could make a 3d engine...
-
Yeah it would be nice. Calc84 had one for the Nspire last year but adding polygon sorting would have slowed it down too much, apparently, so it might have to remain like the first Space Dementia on the TI-92+ or like GlassCars and zDoom on the TI-83.
-
of course, minecraft doesn't need much in the way of rendering, just cubes, which have certain advantages
mobs would be harder tho.
-
Woah, looking great! What's next, holographic full HD, 16 million colours 3D FPS? O.O This is very good progression in TI World.
-
Doesn,t Minecraft require like 8 GB of RAM to run, though? O.O

I don't think so DJ, you are quite mistaken. Otherwise, nobody would play it. Minecraft has low quality graphics (fortunately), but it's RAM heavy because it's unoptimized (or so people say)
-
Well I mean some servers got 8 GB RAM and still has troubles running Minecraft servers. If with gigabytes of RAM it barely runs, imagine a calc.
EDIT Actually wait you're right I think. It's the server that takes this much RAM, not the client.
-
and it gets bigger if you explore more...
the world's size depends on your exploration(I once tried to go one way as far as I could, and I spent >9 hours total just going in the same direction :P)
-
Nice. :D
Now I need a CX.
