UPDATE (Feb 14 2014): Since people have been asking about usergroups for a while, here is an updated list.
LV0 - Newcomer - 0 posts - After you make 1 post, you can edit your signature, avatar and profile info.
LV1 - Newcomer - 5 posts - Can send private messages to other members (assuming they have their inbox turned ON).
LV2 - Member - 20 posts - Can rate posts and vote in polls.
LV3 - Member - 40 posts - Can use OmnomIRC and upload files to the downloads section (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;cat=44) (Attach file to post then upload link).
LV4 - Regular - 100 posts
LV5 - Advanced - 200 posts
LV6 - Super Member - 300 posts
LV7 - Elite - 500 posts
LV8 - Addict - 700 posts
LV9 - Veteran - 1000 posts - File uploads are approved automatically (providing you follow the rules). Can add custom title below your nickname (staff can do so at any level).
LV10 - 31337 u53r - 1337 posts
LV11 - Super Veteran - 2000 posts
LV12 - Extreme Poster - 3000 posts
LV13 - Extreme Addict - 5000 posts
LV14 - Eater of Nethams - 9001 posts
LV15 - Omnimagician - 31337 posts

There was another small forum update last night involving member groups. Now, as you can see when reading topics, each forum member are ranked by a level from 0 to 10. Those are simply post count rank groups and here they are below. First, the LV, secondly, the title, third, the required post count and finally, if applicable, the special privilege you earn with this user group:
LV0 - Newcomer - 0 posts - Initial group. Can post on the forums. At 1 post, you can edit your personal profile info such as website links and signature (spambot protection)
LV1 - Newcomer - 5 posts - Can send private messages to other members
LV2 - Member - 20 posts - Can use OmnomIRC
LV3 - Member - 50 posts - Can use the arcade
LV4 - Regular - 100 posts - Can upload files to the TI game/tools download section and wait for a manager to approve them (coming soon)
LV5 - Advanced - 200 posts
LV6 - Super Member - 300 posts
LV7 - Elite - 500 posts
LV8 - Addict - 700 posts
LV9 - Veteran - 1000 posts - Can add custom title below your nickname (staff can do so at any level)
LV10 - Super Veteran - 2000 posts
We thought it would be cool to have something slightly similar to RPG systems. Eventually, we may add more groups and we might attempt at re-adding a forum shop like we had in 2005, if we can find a reliable one. Note to our spammers, note that the Randomness and Intro section doesn't increase your post counts and we have the ability to reset post counts to zero. ;)

This is great idea! It makes it easier for new members to know when privileges are unlocked. Out of curiosity, what would be in the forum shop and how would we buy/exchange them?

I didn't really see which ones to add. The first few privileges are really basic anyway. The arcade one was there for ages and the downloads section one was planned this way for a while. Everything below 50 are spam protections or the like. I would add privileges for the glitches/walkthrough section too, but it doesn't appear to work (I last tried half a year ago).

I love the new level system :) Its another way to quickly glance at a person and see who they are in terms of knowledge and community involvement.

True, and potential spam can be countered by the fact we have a section just for that, which doesn't count toward people total count. So people can't postcount++ then boast about it even if they didn't contribute anything useful to the community :)

Yeah I'll have to see about a shop section. The one on SMF doesn't support armors and the like. Just random items like peanuts/lobsters or the like x.x

I think an additional profile section show up somewhere. I am not sure, though. The shop will most likely not arrive in a long while, that's for sure, since it's not in my priorities.

I doubt anyone will reach 5000 anytime soon, though, but at least I don't need to add the groups later when that happens :P. If you have more fitting names for LV 12 and 13 feel free to share. :P

Yeah, at first it was 1 post, like profile editing, but I thought it would be too easy at 5 posts to post then vote, register again, post 5 more times, vote again, and so on. Since the next group is 20 posts, I decided to set it at 20. Outside contest time frames, I might temporary set it down to 5, though.
And you cannot even reach 16777216. At 16777215 your postcount can no longer increase as the board postcounts only supports 3 byte unsigned integers :P

Why not just have that change to an infinity sign? And basically crown them king of all geeks.
Note: King Graphmastur hopes no one gets there so that he would never have to give up the throne. ;-)

Yeah. Note that if you post anything and it violates the rules I can delete it, though :P
Also graphmastur this isn't possible atm but if I knew how, I could write a mod that changes the 100000 post easter egg that changes your post count to "geek" instead of 100000 to the infinite sign when you reach the max. :P Not that it would be very useful anyway, tho. I wonder how can someone manage to reach 100000 posts on a calc forum x.x

As a side note, there was an error causing confusion about the level in the 300-500 range. It said Next LV 350 when in fact only 300 was required. That was fixed.

Finally the entire first page of members has members with 100+ posts. Also there are quite a bit with 1000 and 2000+, now :D

Btw my usergroup changed again a few days ago. It used to be Eater of Ashbads but is now Eater of Nethams. Seems Netham45 was fine with the move so far. Also the spam section now requires level 4 since a while ago.

I can't make news posts, so it's definitely 9001. However, I'm the only person with >5000 posts that can't make News posts, so it doesn't make any difference.

Not music until you reach 1000 posts. Otherwise everybody will get to 200 posts and upload about 500-800 songs together, then in a year when visiting Omni we will get errors because Netham45 diskspace was maxed out.
For calculator games, you can upload them starting at 40 posts, though.

Question: What was LV 14 and 15? I know LV15 was changed but I forgot if both LV 14 and 15 changed since that last change and since I am news editor, I can't see mine and there's no regular user with between 9001 and 31336 posts.
There is the list above for LDStudios btw. I am just unsure if the last levels are still the same and if the permissions for the lower levels are still the same

I'm looking at them right now. The only change I see so far is Lv15 is now named Omnimagician. Also, spam is indefinitely closed as is the arcade.
*Edit* Stickied this topic. I have people asking me what member groups grant what privileges all the time. This should make it a lot easier to find. :)
