Although our focus has returned pretty much exclusively towards calculator development in Early 2010, the Coders of Tomorrow team has started to produce music once again recently. You might remember Quest for the Legendary Axe from May 2010, which was not our usual dance song, but in March 2011, 3 new music files were posted in our downloads section as well as two older unreleased songs. Earlier in 2011 Builderboy uploaded one too. As for now, one song is in the works, although no release time frame has been set. If you are logged in, here is a list of all original songs we made from the latest to the oldest here (http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;cat=4;start=0;sortby=date;orderby=desc) (note that several of the songs uploaded in 2008 and 2009 dates back as far as 2002, though).
In addition to that, the radio recently came back online at http://radio.57o9.org/ . Like before, it can be listened to using your favorite music player and songs are played in random order. Besides the radio, there is also a new music player (http://eeezor.ec3club.tk/OmniPlayer/) available for mobile users as well. However, it only works in a limited amount of browsers (webkit-based ones). For those who use Opera or Firefox, you can still use the old Flash music player (http://ourl.ca/4330), although it is not maintained regularly and requires an account.
In lights of the recent site funding and maintenance discussions, we also brought up the possibility that certain of my own songs becomes available for sale, eventually, although the current 128K bitrate MP3s would still be available for free for Omnimaga members (and wherever they were uploaded prior that).

I noticed some members started creating songs lately. Now DJ is not the only one :)
The OmniPlayer is great, congratulations Eeems for it!
Selling songs on iTunes, in my view, would be a good idea. I hope it's a success.

I just got some software for my B-day, so I'll maybe be composing some stuff as well :D
-
Later Today I should be able to upload a sax version of me playing the song I wrote a while back. It depends how well I play. I m an extreme perfectionist with music.

Wow, love that radio, I was just going to listen for a couple seconds, now I'm hooked. I think I'll be playing a certain internet radio station while I program now!
-
Thanks Scout!
Let's hope I can keep up with the possible new influx of music now :p
Sending it to my server is a little tedious x.x

this is really cool! the radio station is awesome!
since my coding skills have pretty much all but worn out, if possible, i would like to contribute to the music aspect of this community.
PS. The player works excellent too!

If you can get it to read from one directory and not require the config file for urls I could help you with a little script that should let you symlink all the files to a directory for you :)

Unfortunately, I don't think Flash has that capability, at least not on its own. You'd have to implement a PHP script to retrieve the files or something.

Awesome! I loved this and I wondered where it went !_! Now I get to listen to programming music again!
Xeda112358 loves to program/do homework/do math to this music ^-^

sadly it only works with the config file now if you could rig me a up a script to output that stuff in the format the config file is in
based on the directory listings that would be lovely :P

Back in 2007 and 2008 we had Necro, Bfr and Nitacku who all produced songs regularly too. Necro only made two, but Nitacku made a remix of one of my songs. After the TIMGUL collapse, however, I kinda lost interest in music making, and at the same time these people got inactive, so only like 4 new songs were released from mid 2009 to early 2011.
Also, two of my recent uploads are songs from 2003 and 2007 and two other uploads are songs I started in 2009 but stopped working on them for almost 2 years.Awesome! I loved this and I wondered where it went !_! Now I get to listen to programming music again!

Yeah the radio went down for half a year, after Juju kept getting hacked. I kept bugging him to bring it back :P

that shouldn't be too hard. What output do you want it formatted to exactly?

http://omnimaga.org/radio/c.txt same way as in this file is prefered where titles are on one row and links to the songs are on another
-
THis seems hard to read X.x
Are you gonna add the new songs by the way?
