Earlier today, ThePenguin77 released a demo of TruVid, a program by him which creates 4 level grayscale video with sound for the TI 83+/84+(SE) line of calcs. It in only for 15 mhz calcs, and even then not a lot of video is stored on the calc. By his estimates, the 83+/84+SE can hold about 45 seconds and the 84+BE can hold around 15 seconds. But, this is full video on the calculator with sound.
Here's a Youtube video showing it in action:

This is truly revolutionary software for the 83/84 line of TI's graphing calculators.

The News post is more than well-deserved, I hope this gains some recognition all around the Web (like nDoom) as it is awesome.
-
Is that sound seriously coming from the calculator? O.O Holy crap, but it's a real, working, full video player... WANT

zTrumpet, I'm glad you didn't move the whole topic like some people were discussing last night. Because if you did, then I would have a project thread XD. This is the perfect way to do it. So thanks for the front page.

Now we only need one calculator :)

The Rick Roll had to happen. Thank you, my life is complete.
It needs moar USB streaming.

That one was actually from thepenguin77's old FourVid (http://ourl.ca/8984/169969). The new one doesn't need two calculators for video and sound :D

Just to be sure, does it work on the TI-83+(non SE)

No, as I know it uses all three crystal timers (so no Nspire compatibility either) and I believe 15 mhz mode.

No problem. :) This is the way I thought it would be best to do it too. :)

Ah, too bad. Still awesome though :D

Once again, I must say that this is awesome! Seriously, that is the most epic thing since sliced bread! :)
-
And I thought the video player was interesting, this is on a whole 'nother level!
I can't type enough *.* s to express my feelings about this.

Perhaps we should contact some online blog or website about technology to share this?
-
It might be a good idea to wait until the tools/methods to convert videos are released as well before doing that.
-
Yes! Now we can have 45 second on-calc RickRolls! This is amazing, great job!

If you're going to do that, at least wait until I finish it ;) It's not too far from completion.

If I do, I will of course wait, as I did not know it had not been finished yet.

Damn I'm out of the loop haha. But damn! I am always amazed at what you pull off Penguin :)
-
Wow, that's really cool! How did you do that?
-
I can't help but ask for USB support too.
How long would it take to buffer 15 seconds of vid to the archive, could you do it while it streams and just keep looping through what's there?

ThePenguin77 does some pretty amazing things with ASM. If you look around a bit you'll find some other incredible projects of his (like Starfox).

15 seconds would be 30 pages which is 7.5 sectors. A full sector erase/write takes about 2.5 seconds, but since it's paired with usb, probably 3 seconds. So that wouldn't be awful actually, probably only 23 seconds.

This is amazing thepenguin77! Can't wait to see it finished!
