There have been several TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus emulators announced recently—jsTIfied (http://ourl.ca/15151), TilEm2 (http://ourl.ca/16372), and more. But parserp's new emulator (http://ourl.ca/16367/305530;topicseen#new) can, for the first time ever, let you emulate a TI-84 Plus on a TI-84 Plus!
That's something not even Emu8x (http://www.detachedsolutions.com/emu8x/) can do. Plus, parserp's program is only 1,075 bytes compared to the large app that Emu8x requires, and according to some initial reviews it seems to run at the same speed as (or even faster than) a non-emulated TI-84 Plus! However, it does require DoorsCS to run correctly.
UPDATE: It seems this amazing program can even emulate a TI-83 Plus on a TI-83 Plus!

And what does that has of interest? Is it like if you have ram clear that nothing happens?
-
(Brown text means fake news :))
-
Yeah sorry, sorunome just told me
/me is a noob
-
I knew it was too good to be true.
-
I thought it was real for a sec :(
-
But deep got his +1 anyway :w00t:
-
it's not his xp but it's still cool :)
-
DEEP THOUGHT I LOVE YOU :D
-
mhmm, does it get linking right? xD
-
Naturally. Anything that you will find in the regular TI OS you will find in this emulator. ;)
EDIT: You may want to attach it in the first post for those who aren't members/don't have enough posts and can't view spam. :)
-
OMG Now we can finally play 83+ games on an 83+!!! That sounds sooooo cool!!!
Sorry, couldn't resist posting that :P
-
This confused me for a good 10 seconds.
-
Who wants to bet that my sister would fall for this?
Anyway, very good fake news.
-
Awesome, congrats on making what looks like the first perfect emulator :D
It seems perfect anyway..still testing stuff..
-
This is the smallest emulator in calculator history in bytes! O.O
However, when emulating OS 2.71MP, I get constant crashes D:
-
2.57 (no MP) works, though.
-
Strange, from here 2.71MP is working but not 2.57
-
Well, 2.57 MP works as well, and 2.59MP/2.59 has no problems either.
-
Except 2.71MP actually exists. (Kind of)
-
I wish 2.57 actually existed.

tripple post! xD

I actually read it 3 times , witouth noticing.
-
hehe I have named it Emulator 8xp+ TI. Now the name is a dead giveaway. >:D
-
Wow, this is the best program ever made.
-
Yup. I guess it's time for me to hang up my hat. Well, it's been fun. ;)
-
/me can't wait for this program reaching ticalc.org news xD
-
Very nice! :)
-
PARSERP IS GOD.
-
LOL this is epic win
-
Is this a joke? An emulator for the emulated?
-
haha of course. an on calc emulator that emulates the calc itself? :P
-
You know, something like this WOULD actually be useful for Asm On-calc (i.e. no more annoying src code losses).
-
True, but it would likely be very slow. Although perhaps it could be improved a bit by using dynamic translation.
(And of course, strictly speaking, it's not possible to emulate the same model of calculator that the emulator is running on. Some parts of RAM and/or Flash - the emulator's code and internal state, as well as the files that you don't want the emulated program to be able to modify - must either be somehow inaccessible to the emulated calc, or immutable.)

It is indeed, hence the news text color :P

I guess it might be possible to emulate a TI-84+ with 48KB RAM on a TI-84+SE with 128KB RAM :P

Yo dawg, I heard you liked emulators in emulators so I put a 84+ in your TI-Nspire emulator in 84+ mode in VirtualPC so you can emulate emulators while you emulate emulators.

/me lost 0_o
Maybe someone could make something like this for the ABLE.. Idk how hard that would be tho.
-
A new emulator on a calculator wow..... I take it.....
(Brown texte mean a joke ?? argg ! )
-
You know, you can even run the emulator in the emulated calculator! (I ran the program twice! It worked!) This is a fantastic program!
