The results for Ticalc.org's annual program of the year competition has been posted (http://www.ticalc.org/archives/news/articles/14/147/147754.html) a few minutes ago. They are available here (http://www.ticalc.org/community/awards/poty/2011.html)!
This year, while there were fewer TI-83 Plus and 68K programs than last year, saw many features on ticalc.org. Also, in the 83+ category, the competition was pretty strong compared to last year. The winners for each category are:
TI-80 - TI-80 Emulator (Randy Compton)
TI-83+ series - Gossamer (KermMartian)
68K - Myst 89 (Stefan Bauwens)
TI-Nspire - nPlayer (apcalc)
Computer - globalCALCnet (gCn) Client (KermMartian)
Special mention to KermMartian for having won two POTY awards in one year, which is well-deserved considering the innovation of both awarded tools bringing Internet and online gaming to a calculator, to Stefan Bauwens, for the first TI-BASIC program to ever win a POTY and to Randy, for the first ever TI-80 POTY. Also congrats to Builderboy for getting close to a tie with the TI-83+ winner, Apcalc for getting Omnimaga team a 2nd POTY win and of course everyone else who worked hard on their entry and managed to make it to ticalc.org headlines!

Congrats to all ^^ Very pleased with Myst and Gossamer winning, and great job to Builder on his near win :D
-
Congrats everyone who won (and didn't)!

The end of another year...every year it just gets better and better :D
/me wonders what's in store for 2012
-
Congrats to everyone! Also I was amazed that Myst won, because normally BASIC games tend to not receive as many votes in POTY surveys.
This is also the first BASIC game to win a POTY ever too O.O

Hm, well I'm not going to make it too easy..
:evillaugh:
(now I'm wondering if Essence in full would be feature-worthy..)
...:P

As long as it comes out I'm fine, though. I liked it so far. :P

Wow, released a bit earlier than expected. Congratulations to all our winners! What a great year! Here's to an even greater one in 2012 (provided the world doesn't end. :P).

2012 will be the year of great Lua programs :)

2012 will be the year of great Lua programs :)
I don't know... With Ndless coming to a final stage, I think people will be using more and more C.
Actually, all the programs I voted for won, expect that I didn't vote for the TI-80 emulator, and I voted for Luna instead of voting for Calcnet. I thought Kerm would get his Calcnet POTY via 84+ programs and Luna was what allowed me to make Lua games for the Nspire on Linux.
Either way, congratulations to all the winners, we had a great year!

Oh, but Lua will also learn new tricks next year ;)

Congrats to all the winners! :)

Now I need to see what I can come up with for this coming year >:D
-
Congratulations to everyone :)
Next year, I really hope that EEPro will be in the list (not the winner, that's a bit of an achievement :P, but nominated), since what we're trying to do will really be appreciated by all the students :)

Nah... Ndless' API is still... shocking... to write in, especially for those who did Lua before. :P
nSDL (one of my projects) is going to fix that, but Lua will still remain popular. Hopefully, they will both equal each other in the end. ;)
On another note, congrats to everyone who won the POTY! :D If you didn't win, you're still a winner to me. ;) Getting featured on TICalc.org is something to still be proud of, even if you didn't get a POTY! :)
That said, here's to an even better year full of fun programs! :D

Ndless will never reach final stage, because even when Ndless 3.1 becomes bug-free and comes out, Ndless will remain in perpetual development, thanks to Texas Instruments consistently trying to make it incompatible with future OSes. As a result, C will usually enjoy sporadic periods of popularity, such as in Early 2010 until March 2011, while Lua will thrive until everything seems to have been accomplished within its limitations.
Also is it me or is TI trying to mimic Mozilla foundation with version numbers since the past two years? :P
