Title: Two new French 68K games released
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on March 12, 2011, 01:23:06 am
No, the 68K community is not dead. There are still some notable 68K programs in the works or being released nowadays.

On TI-BANK website, Loulou has released two new games for the TI-89. The first one is called Piou Piou Traverse la ForĂȘt (Piou Piou Goes Through the Forest). It's an hybrid BASIC game where you must help a bird called Piou Piou jump on platforms without falling in the pit or off the screen. You choose the angle and jump speed to aim properly towards the next platform. Here is a screenshot:

It is inspired from a similar Facebook game by Kek. Piou Piou Traverse la Foret can be downloaded in TI-BANK archives (http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=archives&ac=voir&id=2198).

The author also released a game called Palet. This one is written in C and is similar to Pong, but with a twist: You can push the ball so it bounces back faster (if you time your movements right) and there are power-ups spicing up the game. TI-89 and 92+/v200 versions are available.

These games look nice! Now I know what I can put next on my ti-89.
Congratulations to the author!

These both look cool, but Palet is incredible.  That's an excellent looking game!  Wonderful work, Loulou. :D

Wow I didn't know this news ! xD Thanks. :)

Palet is my first game in C, the other is made in basic with a library, flib. (made with C by François Leiber.)

Actually I have never tested the 92+/v200 version of palet.. ^^ And I haven't adapted the game at the bigger screen. :/ (I haven't those calculator nor ROM's for emulator)

Loulou, you don't need ROMs for emulators ;)
Just download AMS 2.09 for 92+ / AMS 3.10 for V200 from TI's site or TI-Bank (which redirects to TI's site anyway), VTI and TIEmu are able to cope with them. Having a boot code isn't as important on TI-68k calculators as it is on TI-Z80 calculators.
