Please post what type of Linux you use and/or what other OS you use :)
This is to find out what OS representation we have so we know what OS's we need to put our main effort into having Oasis work on.
Thanks :)

Mac os x 10.5.8 and windows xp.
We need a windows 7 tester and mac snow leopard tester, too.
-
I use Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows XP, Vista, and 7. And I also use the TIOS :P

I can eventually handle windows 7. Or at least test builds made by others.
I might even add support for iPhone OS (jailbroken) so people can work on the run :)

XP

I use windows 7

Ah ok, which version btw? We should also support back to XP, anybody still got a copy of XP and willing to test when we release?
-
Windows 7 for me :)
What are you testing?
I also have access to XP, although not on my computer.

We aren't near testing yet, but I would like to know if we have people available to help when we do.

I can't believe I didn't notice that this was in the Oasis subforum.
<_<
-
i can test on XP. i'm not much an assembly person, though. so you'll have to give me instructions on how to test/what to test.
-
Xp, mac os x, and linux are taken care of, btw.

Hey np :)Xp, mac os x, and linux are taken care of, btw.
well not all forms of linux, it would be great to test it on other setups as well to make sure it still worksi can test on XP. i'm not much an assembly person, though. so you'll have to give me instructions on how to test/what to test.
great :) we will do when we need your help. It will probably just consist of running a few test assemblies, we can provide the files if you want, as well as running it with different flags set.

No, 7 pwns xp in so many ways, although xp is great. Your error here is using Norton. Norton should be classified as a computer virus in itself, when you install it it's hard to get it's claws out of your system. It took my dad days to fully uninstall it when we changed virus protection to Trend Micro.
Ok, back on topic now, no bashing OS's
EDIT: although I want to know how you got 10-15 minute startup, mine takes like a minute or two, and I'm on an older system (single core)
-
I just gave my old laptop that had XP (I call it the Craptop) to my friend, but I'm sure he'll let me test stuff on it, as long as it isn't to broken by that time.

I use windows 7 on my main PC and Lappy. XP on my netbook.

I use Windows 7, Ubuntu 10.10, TIOS, and KnightOS. (Although KOS crashes on my calc for some reason)
-
I hate norton, everyone does.
But as we don't need to pay for it, because of my dad's work, we keep it.
I honestly don't know why it takes so long. Although my computer says it takes norton over 7 min. itself
-
Get Avast, it's free, and just as good, well better, and your computer should boot a lot faster

Does this mean you gave up the computer that had xp? As in the computer you used to test Oasis stuff?

Windows 7 64-bit and Fedora 13 (well, at the moment- I plan to update to 14 eventually).
I also have a Windows XP (32-bit of course) netbook, and a flash drive with Knoppix 6.2.1 installed.
-
Or you could install Linux, which doesn't need antivirus software :)
-
I have Windows 7 64-bit and Fedora 14, also 64-bit. :)
Though, because of an annoying problem when I use Fedora (I can't control the backlight on my laptop, so battery gets drained quickly), I don't use it as often. I can still test for it, though.
-
I have Windows Vista 32-bit, Ubuntu 10.10 on a thumb drive, and Mac OS X 10.6 at school, which I all use about equally.
-
I have Windows 7 Professional (with XP Mode) and Arch Linux. I also have copies of nearly every Windows version released, so I could install them in a virtual machine if I want. Want support for Windows 3.11? :P
-
Microsoft Bob.
-
Lol :P Hmm, I think 95/8 and up should be good. Although I'm not to worried about issues past XP

I'm not sure if this will compile correctly with 64 bit, though.
-
What might the issues be? We can just compile it for 32-bit if we have to and 64-bit will just have to run the 32-bit version

Okay. I would rather have it be compatible. We can test it if we need to. I'm not as concerned as getting it to work for 64 bit, as getting it to work for 32 bit.
-
I have 64-bit windows 7, 32-bit windows 7, and 32-bit XP (Yes I gave it to my friend, but I can have him test stuff on it).
-
Well I'm not really concerned with getting it to work on 64-bit, it's just a command line program so we shouldn't have any issues.
Binder, sounds good :) You might want to test the most recent revision, let me know how it works
-
I got Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition. I have an older computer with XP installed but I don't feel like turning my bedroom into an oven again.

lol, just keep that ready for the middle of the winter when your heating bills get too high :P

I used to use my laptop adapter as a foot warmer (and I wasn't wearing any socks at the time, either). Worked wonderfully well, too.

That is an amazing idea! why haven't I thought of it! My laptop get's warm enough that my hands are hardly cold too :P
-
I've also gotten shocked a fair couple of times too, when the adapter failed.
-
/\ a girl?! =-o
also, booting live cd's and then installing to the RAM should work as well, no? i have a collection of maybe 30 live cd's that i've built up over the years from different linux/other builds.
oh, and we can do multi-choice polls? this will make voting during contests so much easier =D
- Yes, we have two active girls, Xeda and Holmes.
- I usually just download the ISO and use it as a VM, unless I want to keep it for some reason.
- Yes, You can do multiple choice polls. I believe theirs an option of how many choices they can choose when you are making the poll.
-
Yeah, I use linux (Debian Testing, 32 Bit) Rolling update Cycles ftw!
-

I don't pay heating bill, just the rest of electricity. Plus it's so warm in here that even during Winter I barely need to heat. :P
If I turn a 2nd computer ON in that bedroom, I have to open my bedroom window a bit, if it's not frozen. :P (I have to be careful so it won't freeze while it's open, too)

I've got vista :( I would be using linux, but this computer is shared with the rest of my family so i cant. I have two other pcs with linux, but they're too old to be useful. Oh, and does TI-OS count? ;)
