Damn, I still had some hopes.
True, plus it will be fun to see what people will come up with, especially that we have plenty of new members who were not here for the last contest.
Actually you joined before it ended, but you did not post until about 2 months later.
I don't think I will join as I only get very simple stuff to work with axe.^this
It won't be Castlevania. It will just draw some elements from it. I hope I can get over my cold so I don't fall too behind schedule. :PSorry to hear about your cold. Hopefully it won't last for 2 months and prevent you from participating :P
Well last year we had more participants in general, but then around late August most of them lost their entire progress in ram clears, with no backups D:, plus some people ran out of time since they had huge projects. Hopefully this year projects are planned better, in terms of data protection and time management. :)/me fishes around for msd8x adapter
Yeah, and howcum ztrumpet is already in contest #3? Does he know what it is?I guess he does, that's why I asked my question :)
Post 1000!
I think #2 is Prizm and #3 is Nspire
I might have it flipped though. :P
as for themes, I'm to lazy to find out right now. ;)
I hope Prizm is #3, many people in the #1 contest will be in the Prizm one, and if they overlap it could be painful x.x

Ashbad, I don't get that logic. A lot of people in #1 will also be in #2, in the Nspire. Or are you just thinking about yourself?
I'm pretty sure its TI, Casio, TI.
Never mind, its Axe, Nspire, PRIZM.
Yeah, and howcum ztrumpet is already in contest #3? Does he know what it is?Do you mean z80man?
I've decided to give up due to being unable to compete with anything.
I have more important things to do.I've decided to give up due to being unable to compete with anything.
Please don't quit the contest :( many of us admit we're up to high competition, but we don't just quit -- we continue to make games as well as we possibly can :) If nothing else, participating will give you practice and will add a cool game to your programming portfolio.

Never give up. If you have time try working on an entry for this. You can be surprised at how well it might doI have more important things to do.I've decided to give up due to being unable to compete with anything.

@annoyingorange:Check the<a href=http://ourl.ca/11030> contest rules</a> and see if your program is a legal entry. You could always create a new program to enter in the contest, that's part of the fun after all isn't it?
I'm going to enter if I can finish my game fast enough, it is a mode 7 style racer for Nspire. Do I have to make sure that my program works on touchpad calcs, (?) because I don't have one.
One worry I had is that almost every contest entry topic did not have any update since May, and I hoped that this doesn't mean all of them died... O.OMine didn't! It just started getting updated yesterday... ;)
I won't announce updates in my thread unless I add a new function. I mean, what's the point of showing you guys the new levels and how to beat them? ;)
You could just play the flash game. >:DI won't announce updates in my thread unless I add a new function. I mean, what's the point of showing you guys the new levels and how to beat them? ;)
I agree, I also never see Continuity Screenshots past the 1st level so I don't learn how to beat the levels.
I was thinking about participating in the Axe Contest at first, but my platformer's code was getting too big for me.
Then I thought about the Lua one, but Lua is not much of a language. I *may* make a very simple Lua game for the contest, but am not sure yet, probably not.

I did till a level I couldn't beat :P Just like I did with Cube Droid and some other ports.
Mine won't have too much content. Once I get the raycasting working, I just need to make a few different levels, add an HUD and weapons, and zombies with a rudimentary AI system that makes them move towards the player.
This is on nspire, so I don't need platforms ;)Mine won't have too much content. Once I get the raycasting working, I just need to make a few different levels, add an HUD and weapons, and zombies with a rudimentary AI system that makes them move towards the player.
...Raycasting *platformer*?? Does that mean both ray *and* floorcasting? That's gonna be tough, even Runer112s raycaster struggles in 15mhz with textures iirc....idk how much more strain adding a floorcaster onto it would have.
Hmm random idea, are there going to be userbars relating to these contests or something? "Entrant" "Third Place" "Second Place" "Winner" etc.We were supposed to have some last year too, but then I never could figure out decent ones :(.
Friiickkkkkkkk
