Hey netham any chance you could add a feature to follow posts and get chrome popups if there is a post in that thread?
or deep thought to his chrome addon?

Iirc firefox has some sort of notifications system as well, such as when a download completes or when an email notifier finds something.
Can't find any documentation on it tho x.x
Anyway a feature like this would be great :D

That'd be a hell of a lot of work to implement (I'd have to have a constant AJAX connection to Omni's DB and check for new posts).

I think it would be better to leave that kind of feature to a third-party add-in. Eg the windows post notifier by SirCmpwn on Omni front page can be pretty handy, same for Deep's notifier.
I would rather not see Omni slow down even more. It's already unbrowsable on PS3 and some handheld devices because of the ajax from OmnomIRC and stuff.

see my thought was to just parse the text that you output into the box. and if it matches the post PINGGGGG
simpler that way >.> <.< and no server side resources needed really
