Title: FF:ROS - The Story - Discussion
Post by: josephmarin on April 19, 2007, 09:56:00 am
Please tell me what you think of the story so far ^_^ Feel free to make comments, suggestions, ask questions, or tell me it sucks. Constructive criticism will help, no matter how insignificant it may be.

Mm, good point. I'll think about other interest-capturing openings. And of course I know what red herrings are =P I know exactly what you're talking about, too. But, I must say, you're assuming that the opening has something to do with the main problem. I can't divulge too much info, but when considering my writings, its usually good to keep in mind that things arent always how they appear. But I will look into the intro. Dreams are rather clich

yeah, dreams are a bit cliche, you could always try an intro like in eragon where the main character isnt actually noticing it (the dream part) but then events from it affect him so YOU know whats happening but he doesnt. idk, have you read eragon? try reading the intro somewhere, actually just read it all, then read the sequel then wait for the final book and read that, they're real good.

Don't...even...mention...that...stupid...intro!!! :flame:tresfache.gif It ruins the mystery when the dragon egg pops out of nowhere when Eragon was hunting. It also ruined the meeting of Arya in the jail because you automatically know who the elf is when she is first seen by Eragon!

IMO, I like the intro of the first Harry Potter book: it gets you thinking about what happened before the story and why Harry is so important.

well you understand what i mean tho, an intro that doesnt have the main character included or in harry potter's case, conscious. so you know more than the main character

I suppose I could re-write it. After all, looking back on it, it does need a rewrite. I'm also open to plotlineand miscellaneous other suggestions. lay it on me, man, i need inspiration, and fast...the 16th draws near!

yeah, the problem is that unlike with asm and c you cannot do stuff like click test, and it saves all programs/sub programs/pics used in the game/program, open WabbitEmu and immediately execute the game. I liked this from TIGCC
