Just a teaser for right now ;)
STD it going to be a game like this:
You are exploring a strange new land.
You are a rather peaceful person who brought supplies to start a new civilization in this seemingly uncivilized land.
You have been informed that many of the creatures are edible without needing to be cooked.
Your companions left to explore the wilderness as you start to build your watch tower.
You were left a sniper rifle, by your companions, to protect yourself, although you thought you would only need it to use it too see far away.
After a short period where you were only able to build your tower a few feet up, you are attacked by the savage, native beasts.
Will you be able to set aside your passive nature to protect yourself?
Will you be able to build your tower high enough to keep yourself safe?
Will your companions ever be able to come back or have they perished.
Will civilized natives, that you have not discovered, find and help you in your time of need?
It is up to you.

so if we don't play SNiper Defence, we get infected by STD's? :(
j/k that seems interesting. I wonder how this will come out. :)
-
it should come out fine if i ever get me pxl in a circle location code working fully
on a side note: this is not a tower defense game. It is a defense game on a tower ;)
-
So is the view going to be from the side of the tower, or the top? (or maybe 3D?)
-
I'd love to see it 3D, but I hope it isn't for reasons of my own.
-
Cool concept. Good luck on it! ;D
-
no it won't be in 3d.
I will give demo when get opponents working
-
So...
So is the view going to be from the side of the tower, or the top?
?????
-
fine, quick demo
ya. i cant make sprites.
But i have a name for the badguys. TIck's
-
wow, this looks cool :D
can't wait for an actual release in the future
-
truthfully i could have a working version in less than an hour.
But in general i am too stressed right now to think. (that is why i am uploading screenies and stuff)
(you can tell by my needing to fix spelling...)
-
trust me, I understand, no pressure ;)
-
but there is (in my head)
the conflict of wanting to work on it vs the fact that i won't be able to is too much some times... ;)
But: TIcks are very cooperative with each other. If they lose to many members, they will temporary retreat.
Goal of lvl: kill a certain number of TIcks so they will retreat
-
This looks neat! Great job. :)
-
Nice. I like the concept so far. :)
-
started working on basic enemy movement and collision checking. This is where the project starts or dies.
Is there any way to draw a line on the back buffer? without affecting the front?
-
In Axe?
Line(x,y,x,y)r
(I think)
-
it always throws me an error.
-
that's because line(X,Y,H,K)r isn't a command. you have to exchange the two buffers, draw a line, and exchange them back
-
how inefficient is that?
i hope Axe will have line(.,.,.,.)r in the future.
-
i think it's the most efficient way you can right now.
-
how do you switch buffers?
-
Exch(L3,L6,768)
Line(X,Y,H,K)r
Exch(L3,L6,768)
-
thanks
-
I was sure Axe supported back-buffer lines X.x. I'm really behind...
-
I can't wait for the next GIF, even though Sniper 101 was cool enough :)
-
well i got enemy movement working, but collision checting is really messed up.
-
Feel free to post some code if you need help. What kind of error does occur?
-
nothing, that what was wrong. nothing would happen....
I got it working.
pseudo code.
Draw line/lazier (front buffer)
collision check (both buffers)
draw bad guys (in back buffer)
Display graph (3lvl gray)
Clear draw (both buffers)
it took me a while to find this was going on....
it is so easy to see in pseudo code...
-
Ah ok, glad you got it to work.
-
I can't wait for this game! It's going to be pretty awesome I'm sure ;)
-
I am starting to doubt that ^
it looks like the game wouldn't be any fun w/o color.
I might change the game play into something different.
I will provide a small demo though of the basic workings.
-
hey, don't be a pessimist. From the sniper 101 game, you proved you can make awesome AND fun games. You don't need color to make them cool.
I think you need some motivation then ;)

We need no colour sir
-
all the sprite just merge together. I will post a couple of demos when my mom is done with the usb ports.
But i just don't see any way to do what i was thinking.
After seeing the demo, all suggestions on gameplay would be great.
-
What about grayscale?
-
that interferes with collision checking.
Instead of trying to get a demo out. I have been thinking about the game and how I could make it workable
-
Ah ok I see. I hope you can find something out.
