Title: Wiki set up!
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on August 17, 2006, 04:54:00 am
It's finally working. I tried several alternative to mediawiki on UTI including an older version of it that supported PHP 4.0, and it still didnt worked fine. One wiki CMS worked (Dokuwiki)' but page loading time averaged between 20 seconds and 2 minutes. Not good at all. Rezek (now KevinJB) from revsoft offered me some webspace on Rs so I've setted up the xlib guru here :)smile.gif

http://xlib.revsoft.org

I would like to thanks KevinJB for the webspace and papersnowman from HRP for helping me set up the wiki on UTI (even though, unfortunately, the hosting gave us no luck :(sad.gif ), but thanks anyway for your hard work.
SO you can start contributing, remember anyone spamming or causing vandalism will get banned and if it continue afterward the wiki will be made invite only (registration disabled)

Very cool, but it isn't a wiki if it isn't on their server? Looks nice, did you get permission for use of their css code? I hope to see more added soon!

Edit: I just saw MediaWiki, and looks nice :Ptongue.gif..I was just trying to look out for you guys ;)wink.gif

Hey, what sections still need to be written or extended? I can donate some of my rather extensive free time.

not necessarly, but if you see stuff that may require improvement, even draogn lanve tutorial (we never know), more stuff, etc you can edit it and add it. If you want to create a new page about something just type the URL http://xlib.revsoft.org/index.php?title=PageName by changing PageName to whatever you want. I dunno if non admins can edit the navbar but I can easily add new stuff here if ppl start new pages.

On that note I may need help for the front page :(sad.gif

EDIT: to edit stuff just register an account on the wiki and you can edit from here

Ok, it seems there's nothing but the tutorial, which seems to be an excellently improved version of tr1p's readme. So I'll probably go ahead and add a page on sprite masking.

EDIT: It seems there already is one. Why isn't there a page showing a complete list of the tutorials?
EDIT again: Oh, it seems there's only one tutorial besides the main tutorial. Well, I guess I'll do a tutorial on parallax scrolling, then.

Unfortunately I've always seen bugs in certain applications of it, which tr1p1ea was never able to resolve.
