Can I do anything with my TI-30XIIS?
« on: May 07, 2011, 08:25:46 am »
It's so basic and boring.

Seems like I could make it do something better.

Is there any way? I'm fine with replacing stuff inside of it, to an extent.

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Please move it if it is. :)

This sure is my favourite scientific calculator (from what I've seen). However, I highly doubt you can do any programming on it.

Small, beautiful and has lots of functions, really awesome design.

The lower part of the screen has 7 segment-like display, so yeah, I dont think you can program this thing. I used to have this one but it got stolen last year.

I know what you can do: Do math (j/k)
I agree with qazz. While you might hack the TI-30XS Multiview (Link), it seems impossible to hack this one due to the very different display.

well, old programmable calcs had segment displays... :P
but they were generally larger. I don't think this calc can hava any decent program capabilities. sorry.

Not necessarily programming, just anything cool.

And I do know what a 7-segment display is.

A 7-segment display looks like this:

It can create any number:

You forgot about the hex digits. A 7-segment is often also called a hex digit display.

Oh yeah, I did see a cool YouTube video where someone made an animation with a TI-30XIIS.
Spoiler For YouTube video please look:

Quote from: comment from the uploader on how this was made
pretty easy. just put a dot on the first thing and then make the emoticons you want and then press = which will probably give you a syntax error and then just keep adding on to it what you want it to do and press = and then use the arrow keys to go up and down the animation :)
