Title: Dapianokid selling a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition
Post by: Dapianokid on April 02, 2013, 04:37:59 pm
Sorry!
This offer has been closed due to refinancing situations which have provided me with the money I need without selling my precious calculator!

Original post:
Wanna buy a TI84+SE with 128k RAM from me for $120?

You came to the right place! My price is fair, considering the special nature of the device you are buying.

The device is always clean as a whistle, and has experienced very little wear down on the keys. The case is a bit worn (it's an old calculator suffering from daily use) and the USB port isn't as snug as brand new models. However, if anybody takes this offer, both of those little defects will be attended to. :) Comes with 4 fresh batteries and a set of default apps for developers, including your choice of the best shells out there, zStart, Axe, Calcsys, and Mimas.

LCD screen has nary a scratch on it, and all I need to make it look brand new is a Qtip. The whole outside casing was once defaced by the careless pencil smudges of another math enthusiast (Yes, this calculator has been owned before me.) but that has been cleaned. The faceplate has only been removed once since the factory release.

I have never unscrewed the calculator at all, and the previous owner knew nothing about gaming on calculators so he obviously didn't either. It is NOT factory sealed inside it's packaging, but it has not been "tampered" with.

BEST PART OF DEAL!

The calculator comes with an unreleased version of MSD8x and USB8x and a version of MSD8x (renamed MSD8y) that can read .txt files from the calculator off a USB stick! That's right, that 30 dollar adapter nobody can find online? This sale comes with one for free. Transfer 1 page applications on the go, as well as any other OS variable. PERFECT for trips!

To purchase, please PM me with your address and any shipping information you would need to order on eBay (this offer is hosted personally.) and I will respond with information on when you can expect your TI 84+ SE :D

$120  + Shipping + Handling (+ Tax).

Is it factory-sealed and all? Because you can get a brand new 84+SE (although with 48 KB of RAM) for only $9 higher at Staples I think :P (assuming both of you live in USA)

I've never taken it apart :) (on purpose) and of course, I'd lower the price ten more dollars for a fellow Omnimagician.
So, yes, it is factory sealed and well cleaned (I got it from a friend who had it firty) with a painstakingly well taken care of LCD screen. It's quite fancy. It clocks at 15.0016 Mhz, which is slightly higher than normal if that makes you feel better, and the USB port has experienced almost negligible wear-down. Of course, it being my only 84+SE, I'd send an adapter (and I suppose my flash drive filled with TONS of calc stuff on it) that is HARD to find online for less than 30 dollars.
:) This offer is open to any U.S. resident!

How can it be factory-sealed if it was cleaned? You have to tear the package apart to access the calc ??? (unless you mean you cleaned the package?)

@Dapianokid:When he says "factory sealed" he means "new in package". You can get used 84+ses with extra ram for about half what you are suggesting.

Back on topic: i realized yesterday that my TI-73 has been misplaced. :/

Not to put you off, but I can get a new, unused 84+SE in store for less. You better lower the price a bit :3

I'll lower it to 100$ + shipping and handling.

I'm updating the device information :P

...

Looking at ebay, I can get an SE used for between $45 and $60. New I can get for around $90. Why would anyone buy yours for $100? That's ridiculous.

looking at eBay, they go for a lot more than that and often the bidders go crazy about buy for about $150.

Yea... good luck with that. I got one of my TI-84+ SEs for $67.85 with shipping and one for $32.00 with shipping. The latter isn't in as good condition, but both have the extra ram. If you want to try to sell on Ebay you might have some luck, but I seriously doubt anyone here would pay your asking price when they can get it for much less.

Haha, if you say so.

I saw maybe 3 calcs on the first page that were over $100, the rest were under, most a goodly amount under. The only $150 calc that was there is the new TI-84+ CSE.

What are Nspires going for?  CX CAS I mean.
Btw, I'd delete this topic, I just got a job and found out about how to get the money I need without selling my precious calc. Thanks anyway, I'll sell it someday lol

Tr1p1ea bought a 84+ for $20 back in 2006 or so, but the LCD was defective. Not sure if he fixed it with the help of Kerm's magic. As for new ones in my case they usually range between $100 and $190 excluding shipping right now. There are $0.01 ones too but people bid like mad and they end up around $160 or so. I prefer buying now rather than auctions due to that. Sometimes there are also troll bidders who will bid $9999.99 on any kind of item since they'll only have to pay the previous bid anyway.
