Although there are several things I don't like about the CX, I'm seriously considering selling some of the calcs I don't really need (TI-83, TI-89) and getting a CX CAS. Anyone else?
-
I may buy it, but only after it has been unlocked, and will use it to replace my NSpire Touchpad.

Sell your Ti-89? Forget it man! Bad choice, bad choice. :P
That calculator is the best calc in the world! (Ofcourse you may do what you want :P)
If you sell it, you won't be able to try MYST 89 when it comes out. How sad would that be? :P

I don't have any games on my TI-89, I just used it for math last year. :P
I just looked at your screenshots for MYST89, that's extremely impressive.

Thank you. :)

5 & 6, but I chose 5 to express my reasoning for 6 :)
-
I don't think I'll buy one yet. Maybe when it's unlocked, but for now I'm fine with my Casio Prizm.

Same here.

Or we use 89 emu for Nspire :P

I thought that project was ended?

It was not very stable, indeed. Maybe it could be done for the CX, with 89 with colours!!!

@Stefan: MYST with colours.
But I'd prefer a 83+ with emulator, even if no colours.
I'd a buy a CX right away.
-
I may get one for free, so... ;D

How???

Mathcounts Nationals. ;D
TI gave Nspires last year. ;)

Great :)

I'm fine with my Prizm for now just like DJ, but I do plan to buy an UbergraphX once the pre-orders are ready.

I think MYST CX might be possible. But the thing is CYAN(the creator of myst) might sue the one who makes it because the whole game might fit on that calculator(no demo). Since I noticed that there excist myst demo for the ipod, I don't think i'll get sued because mine is a demo, which means they can't loose anything, just gain fame.
But yeah... MYST might look very pretty on the cx(and on the prism).
@Ashbad: You will never buy a calculator from TI, because they're locking them down? So you'll never buy a ti 89?/me cries :P
-
I am considering buying one, but, like yunhua98, I am hoping to get one for free if I can participate/do well at ARML.

We don't get them free around here... I may get one for Christmas.

Voted the bottom option. I'm very dissapointed in TI for locking down the Nspire and putting a shitty LCD in the original NSpires. They've done a lot wrong with them and don't deserve my monies. :P
-
I think I will just wait until the price drops and then buy it :P

I agree totally. So I'll stick with Casio Prism and maybe buy the Classpad when they come out with one that has a color screen.

If the Lua programming scene progresses, I will most likely buy a CX over the summer. :)

Yeah :D
I was pretty happy to see the news.
-
I wonder how the colors with that will work.
I'm going to get one if I have enough money after getting a uberGraphX and Scout trips
-
I think that is the biggest reason I would get the CX. Colors. :hyper:
I hope TI does not mess the programming up badly, though.
-
They'll probably add something to it to prevent us from using the Lua.
Maybe that is why they released 3.0 before the CX to see if we could hack the programming

Yeah, they did something awesome. I'm reasonably sure they knew we'd find it. Otherwise, the tns might need to be signed before it ran a script.
-
They might add that now they know that we can hack it.
-
I'm pretty sure the person who made it would've thought of that before putting it in a production OS. TI's had plenty of experience locking down products. Don't forget the new 2048-bit key. We stood no chance of cracking even the 1024-bit key, but they still changed it.
-
I will buy one this summer...but not for me, it is for my brother. I plan to buy an ti-89.

Good choice :P
-
I might buy a CX eventually just to say I have one but I'm quite content to stay with the Prizm. In fact, I will stay with the Prizm (but I'm glad to see some real potential with the CX).

Hahahahahahah!
Back to topic, if we manage to code ARM in the NSpire, how hard would making a PRIZM Emu be?
-
Nope, just my good ol' TI-83 Plus :D
I may get one for free, so... ;D
O.O

I guess 68K calculators will come back to fashion? Maybe.
-
I hope so. :P
-
If it ever becomes possible to make proper programs on calc, I might get one.
-
I'm sticking with my Clickpad TI-Nspire, and of course, my trusty old TI-86 (which I use as my primary math calculator).
-
I might, if I get the cash.
I miss my 86 :'(
-
Yeah willrandship but what are you doing to your calcs? O.O
TI-84+ SE (my sis's, but still half-available), Nspire, 92 (No upgrades, broken screen, viewport plug) 86 (Broken Screen, no viewport) 82 (Busted to oblivion), Nspire CAS
-
If my plan goes accordingly, I may own one by Friday :)
-
How will you do so? ??? It's not even released yet... ???
-
Oops, sorry -- foot in ear, I thought this read "Casio Prizm"
:P
-
Oh ok lol. Yeah I was wondering because on TI website it still says Coming soon.
-
It seems to be availible in stores already if you search Nspire CX on Google, but I'm not sure, since I didn't read the details as to whther you can just preorder it or actually out.

This is my initial reaction to this question:
