Title: Error in validation

Is there any reason a calculator would give this message when receiving an OS from another calculator, but not when using TI's OS downloader that's built into TI Connect? *Edit* The calculator displaying the error message is a TI-84 Plus for the record. I can give further details about exactly what process I went through and what year the TI-84 Plus is, but more than anything I am just curious.

Certificate and flash corruption are likely causes. RAM corruption is unlikely, but possible. TI writing awful code is also a likely cause.
