That's right. An employee of our beloved texas instruments works at my school as a tech guy and I had no idea about this until today. My math teacher got the notion I knew more than the average person about calcs and I told her about a new Nspire calc coming soon (CX ofc). She told me she herd of that when she was at lunch. I didn't know how this was possible when she barely knew how to figure out graphing and basic Nspire functions (we use Nspire in our classes). Today when I got back from my lunch period she told me that she had gotten ahold of a TI-Nspire CX and she saw it with her own eyes. I figured this was impossible. I asked her how this was possible when she told me that Mr. <someone> works for TI! I was very excited to hear this. Last block of the day he was not in his office, but I will go and meet him and talk to him FIRST THING TOMORROW MORNING!! I will ask him about future programming capabilities, OS 3.0, and 3 other questions you all have to ask.
O.O
edit: I mean the teacher saw the nspire she doesnt have one herself but the staff guy does.

DOOOO IIIIITTTTT!
BTW, I totally forgot to check with the person in our school who works for TI :(
sorry... I was caught up in losing my calc
-
Hand over the Nspire keys! :D (j/k)!
I would like to know about the TI-84 Pocket on TI's French website. What is the thing???
-
O.O
This is awesome. That said, if they are not allowed to reveal stuff, maybe you'll be out of luck, though, since they could get fired otherwise. However if the person can answer some questions it would be nice. :D
-
That's pretty cool. I wonder if this could be a pipeline of information... :D
-
:D im glad this could potentially mean less 'ti-cares' about our questions :P
edit: if you guys have questions you want to ask i will pick 3 questions from you guys
-
Ask very innocently - "What number can divide into this one? [Give nspire public key]"
Seriously, ask for a valid reason why TI doesn't support asm on the nspire.
Or, ask for USB port documentation.

Or, ask for USB port documentation.
For the Nspire? We already found that, actually.

3? What about 20! This is awesome.

well I don't want to make it look like I am a part of anything. That might change his perspective of me for the worse.. and the fact that I can only remember 3 lol..
I don't wanna print anything and do a q & a even thought that would be great
-
I would start pretty innocently with the questions until you talk with him more and more, then once you've gained his trust we shall infiltrate TI...oh the possibilities...oh wait...did I say that out loud? Um...*whistles innocently*
Anywho, seriously though, I would hold back on more serious questions until you get to know him better and he feels better about maybe releasing a few things he isn't quite supposed to or something. Who knows. But that's really cool he does.
-
My question for him is this: will TI continue supporting older Nspires after the release of CX, and will future support include any kind of native assembly/C support?
-
thats good, although maybe start without that last part...
-
Ask him if he wants to join this forum, apparently we have no official TI members, asking him to join would benefit us all. Who knows, maybe if he joins, more and more TI members will join, participate in projects with us, give us upcoming information, ask us to beta test new projects, ask us to beta test new features, ask us for suggestions, you name it.
-
hmm... I guess that means we would need a new member group called TI-staff, since theres some erm... stuff that he probably woudn't like... :P
-
Yeah, perhaps a "stuff TI doesn't see" board ;)
-
But we need to know he's a TI-Staff beforehand lol
so, lets just not have him here XD
-
But, if we do know he is, then where's the harm? :P
-
he could invite another staff on here. :P
-
Any TI rep could create an account and see this stuff now. I don't actually see a reason to change things.
-
They don't even need to do that to read it....providing it's outside randomness.
-
true, but we don't want to give them a reason to, since then Snake X won't be able to ask questions. ;)
-
lol lets just start with confirming that he works with ti. After that, I will ask to look at the TI-Nspire CX. After that I will ask him what are the programming capabilities of the calculater, then I'll go from there.. I thought about asking him about the forums then again he might suspect something of me.. and he might change his view on me. I want to act as non-knowing about any of this stuff as possible so he won't assume im doing this for all of you.
-
Yeah it might be best to not mention forums, especially not Omni or to a lesser extent Cemetech. Both are filled with plenty of games and all sort of entertainment tools for calc.
And I don't feel like changing stuff. Anyone can register and hide his info (proxies, anyone?) and see most board content. Creating secret boards would be a major hassle since we would need to add people one by one. Also if they become active here, they'll read more about Ndless and might try to use our info/doc against ourselves to block Ndless harder...
-
Interesting Snake X. If he does really work for TI in some form that would be pretty cool. Be sure to update us! =)

***BUMP***
So?
-
He posted a report in a new topic. I would link to it, but i'm posting from my zune. Mobile browsing is :/

I made a news about the possible future of the TI-Nspire CX programming, since Stefan also got confirmed (although it still remains rumors) that getkey would not be present.
