I went to Staples yesterday

Yesterday I made a visit to Staples, and I paid a visit to the calc sector - how could I miss it?

Here are the prices (in $ Cad.):

83 Plus - $130
84 Plus - $150
84 Plus SE - $170
89T - $190

Anywho I took advantage of the demo models to play a bit with the 84+ (I own an 86 and an 89T).

I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw, and one thing that I liked was the crispness and clarity of the 84+'s LCD.

I also liked that the LCD background is whiter than the 86's, as opposed to the 89T's green one (which can be annoying at times...).

I am impressed with the 84's OS, it's a nice blend between the 86 and the 89, and is very easy to get around with.

However, I also did something bad while I was there - I willingly reset all of the 84's memory - so much for TI's precious pre-loaded apps (Finance was the only one left) :P

lol, you shouldn't have done that...

And if you want one, you should check ebay... You might get one cheaper...

Hmm, I guess $130 Canadian for an 83 Plus is pretty equivalent to ~$80 in the US- I actually got my 83+ from Staples, almost three years ago now, for $90 US, but it had the USB cable free, which sells for $15-$20 US, so it's like I got the calc for $75, and incredible deal at the time.

DJ Omnimaga:
Cool this means the 89t isnt that much expensive after all, 3 years ago the 89 was like $230

EDIT: about the 89T greenish LCD, the 83+SE has the same pb, check the first pic from my 83+

and check the next one from my SE, you can see the LCD is a bit darker (grayscale is better tho):

Kevin, did you paste the Omnimaga logo on your 83+?
