Title: Looking for infos about this grayscale Zelda...
Post by: persalteas on September 29, 2013, 12:43:42 pm
I have find on my hard drive a 83p without any info, and I'm looking for where it is from...

It's a grayscale RPG "Legend of Zelda" in Asm stub 83, running with the SOS shell.
Do you know who it is from ?

Download (https://mega.co.nz/#!TRVHXYoJ!FdkABGqVLrE8Ux2pWw0SQxql178pKFb4Cm7bsw6Rsak)

Thank you...

You might want to try a different host. The host you are using is trying to download 50MB+ of additional files when I try to download the Zelda game.

Yeah in my case it asks me to download the POS that is (Chr)opera 15. This host also seems suspicious with the abuse of Flash and crap. I really don't want any virus lol.

Maybe use Mediafire?

Also I never saw any grayscale Zelda for the 83 in the past.

EDIT How do you run SOS in WabbitEmu? I get ERR:SYNTAX...

It's fine for me. I thought Mega entierely uses HTML5?

Guys, Mega is the revival of MegaUpload, you know how shitty that was back then. :P

Yeah it was annoying with the 45 seconds wait before download and how we could only download 1 file.

That said, I think the program is corrupted. Even SourceCoder is unable to detokenize it.

Yeah, since they got arrested they made it way better.

It's an asm game for SOS shell on the ti83. :P/me needs to get his 82stats.fr back from mom. Yes she has all my calcs except my 84+ and 80 which I never use. <_<

Yes but it is corrupted. Even in TilEm I get a missing I/O error on transfer. TilEm works fine there, though.

Mega.co.nz probably adds plenty of junk in files after upload, which probably explains why in Firefox it asks you to download some 50 MB large file.

Well I got it running in Graph89, but there's no greyscale. It looks like a quite nice Lin's awakening-ish game though. :)

What is Graph89? I know there's a TI-83+ ASM emu for the 89 called MulTI, but I never heard of Graph89.

Also any screenshots? I wonder who is the author...

Graph89 is a port of TiEmu and TILEM to Android. I have no idea who the author might be. :/

The author's name is Dritan Hashorva. Until he publishes the source code, Graph89 definitely violates the GPL used for libti*, tiemu, tilem (and possibly tilp). He was recently notified about the violation (privately, because that's how these matters should be handled for best success), and he had therefore better publish the source code soon.

I was talking about the author of the Zelda game, but yeah I was suspicious about the legality of this emulator. :P (not the fact it's paid because GPL allows this even though I didn't pay for it :P)

Oh wow I remember that game now. I think it's an earlier version of Zelda: Test of Courage, from Sam Heald and Harper Maddox.EDIT: Nvm it's really ToC. I just got confused at the tiles size because of the larger screenshot. Back then, it used 16x16 sprites instead of 12x12. However, this version seems to use the HUD from the later demo, because in the original version it was different.

The following screenshot is from the latest available demo:

Here's Void's Zelda website:

There is a TI-83+ version available, but I don't know if it's as up to date as the 83 one.

EDIT Btw there's no grayscale in this Zelda Streetwalker ???

Dj is correct. This is Sam Heald's Zelda. It isn't grayscale though. For anyone wondering, it's been discontinued for a very long time.

Yes, no grayscale :o

It was the name of the file "Grayscale Legang of Zelda.83p" :P Sorry...

Thank you for remembering it !! So, Sam Heald. What an awesome guy. I have so many games from him :P

(btw, I have no problem with mega... do you need a re-upload ?)

It's okay. Since I know what it is now another download link isn't necessary. There are a few versions of this floating around on TIcalc.org. :)
