i need help!
i cant send files to/ from my calc by pc! :'(
my linking program is TIconnect
plz help me, so i can upload elements search to Omnimaga... ???

What calc are you using and what OS? I have a nSpire and Im having the same problem with the 84 emu.

Are you getting any error messages? also, does your computer recognize that the calc is connected?

computer recognizes my calc
but when i try to send something to pc i get an error:
"unable to communitcate with the TI handheld device. please check your connection"
that happens always, altough my connection is fine

ok. um....ti connect is really annoying sometimes.
mine is always acting up: here are some things you can try.
try all the different usb ports. mine only works on a specific one.
win7/vista or xp?
if you have 7/vista make sure you have ticonnect 1.6.1 (you can get it from ti's website)
reinstall ti connect

if it's easy for you to reinstall ticonnect, i would try that.
or also, if that's easy, you might want to try installing TiLP if you can (it is an alternate linking program)

err, yeah, TILP is alot more stable
in fact there was a case of TI-Connect transforming a BASIC prgm into a asm program... the asm program did not run BTW

it wont work...
tried all ports, but all an error, altough they differ:
"Device not connected" --> connected securely!
"current transfer failed"

ugh. well, you can try restarting comp/reattaching calc, or reinstalling ticonnect, or tilp.
personally ticonnect usually works for me, so as not to the point where i have needed to start using tilp.
but yeah, tilp is said to be 9000 times better :P

I think the problem is my calc, but I dont know...
if the calc is the problem, i'll contact TI because my calc is only 1,5 months old.

try blowing into it and then try reconnecting.
btw, I thought aeTIos was deleted because it was a duplicate account. ???

I hope it's not the calc. Sometimes a computer reformating is required x.x, I hope you don't have to do that, though.
Also the original account was deleted due to a misunderstood. It had the same IP as LordConipuiter and immediately after signing up, the account was used to vote on his contest entry, so I thought Lord tried to cheat the contest poll or something by signing up multiple accounts to vote multiple times on his own entry, but finally it was someone else. We let him register again but we made the poll voting require 20 posts like OmnomIRC in case.

Linking errors can be a real pain, here is what I have done several times to get Ti Connect working. At least for me, if you follow these directions, all should go well.
First off, unless you plan to permanently use TILP, don't install it. You will just create lots of driver problems.
1. Uninstall Ti Connect.
2. Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\ and delete the libusb0 and silverLink driver. (that's not the exact name of the silver link driver, but it's close)
3. Plug your calculator into a usb port that you know it was connected to at one point
4. Control Panel>System>Device Manager and uninstall your calculator, (it may take some searching, it's supposed to be in libusb devices)
5. Disconnect the calculator from the computer
6. Repeat 3, 4, and 5 for all of the usb ports you think you might have used
7. Do 3, 4,5, and 6 with your silver link if you have one
8. Restart computer
9. Install Ti Connect
10. Plug in your calculator and let it install drivers
And you're done. If all went well, you shouldn't have problems for like 2 week! (Ti Connect is very finicky with direct usb, that's why I use silverlink)

I have the same problem with TI Connect. Im on the current version with an 84+ 2.43
Like they said, use TiLP. I get the same error messages with TI Connect, and out of the 5 different computers i use it on, only one of them even recognizes my calc.
TiLP is way better

I tried TiLP, and it works, but i cant send big files ( like as HoMM) to my calc.
does anyone know what causes this?

What error do you get? Sometimes, there is enough memory on the calc but not enough empty 16 KB flash sectors on the calc to fit the app in. In that case the best thing to do is reset the entire memory, send back the largest files first, then the smaller ones afterward.
