TI China site shows two new kinds of NSpire... CX-C CAS and CM-C...for Chinese users...
It says CX-C CAS will have an e-dictionary in the next OS. And CM-C has only 32MB RAM.
I don't think the white one looks nice. And as for the dictionary... I really don't think it can help ti get more market shares in China. :P

I can always find some grammar mistakes when I read my posts... x.x
*TI becomes more and more eggache.
-
Hmm interesting, I wonder if it uses a similar OS and hardware besides those changes... so it could maybe be hacked as well in the future?
-
TI Agent said TI-NSpire CX CAS can install that kind of OS which has dictionary.
-
I see. I was more wondering about Ndless/TNOC actually.
-
I wonder if it is in stores here (china)? I have been looking for ti calcs, but Casio seems to dominate the market.
-
It says "Coming Soon" on the site...
And in fact I never seen TI calcs in markets.
-

Oh I see what you mean...
I think the OS may not be quite different.
-
Sounds interesting for the Chinese users.

Either way, I had no idea they made separate products for China, or is this the first time?

I think this is the first time, but they have several calculators models that are intended for France, so the idea of having calcs for specific countries isn't new.
-
yes, you're right, l'm a Chinese, in china only a few people use TI's calc, not to mention the CX-C
-
That Nspire CM certainly looks quite different from the CX! :O
I wonder if we will eventually see a CM release in the US, too (or elsewhere in the world).
EDIT: Apparently, there is a CX-C model of both the non-CAS and CAS models. Might the CM be a lower cost version of the CX????? (less memory)
-
Thank you for the information.
I've newsed about the new TI-Nspire CX-C. (the TI-Nspire CM-C is going to get a separate news)
http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=1261
I've also extracted the full-size images from the so called "3D" Flash view on TI website. Feel free to reuse them.
And of course, I've linked here. :)
Apcalc -> check the exams at which the CM-C is accepted and you should understand "why" it does exist. ;)
-
wow, I actually think the CM looks better. I also wonder what TI is planning with this. Probably trying to use the CM to compete with the Prizm's price.
-

/me is wondering for a multi-lingual dictionnary in english, spanish, german, binary, brain fu*k, Lua, oops .. too far
-
I've newsed another time about the TI-Nspire CM-C.

You've got the 3 available images up to now to my knowledge.
Feel free to reuse them.
And of course, I've linked here again ;)

Nice. I think it might be a good idea to news about it here too (although I'm unsure about the Omnimaga staff future plans regarding news articles on the front page. For some reasons I'm afraid they have no plan to continue posting calc news any further...), especially that the calc seems pretty different.
By the way this seems to be the first time they do this, because in China there was only one Touchpad and one CAS Touchpad.
-
Whoa. Interesting find there. I wonder if it'll be coming stateside.

The international TI community number one reference site not posting calc news anymore?... :(
No website is currently able to replace Omnimaga, and certainly not TI-Bank which has no plan of becoming international for now.
Please, you should reconsider...
-
After I left on July 8th and was removed from my staff/news editing position, the rest of the staff didn't replace me with another news editor it seems, so pretty much everything went unnoticed. I won't badmouth them if they chose to take a different direction, but I wish they could have gotten together during my break to replace me or something.
I thought about contributing to news again in the future, but just not now, since I'm still on some sort of break until maybe September. I just wish somebody could help at the moment (I gave about 3-4 news suggestions to Juju and others, to no avail) to keep people in the English community informed.
Else the only other solution I can find is that the staff pick someone just for posting news here during my break.
-
most news lately have been contest and site updates...
/me goes looking in the notable programs list.
-
Well I meant the calc news like this new NSpire CX, the TI-30X assembly a while ago and Sound on the Nspire, which weren't posted here, along with a few other stuff. And now even the newsletter seems to be delayed x.x. It doesn't help that the ones who used to post news regularly don't speak French, though...
On another note, anybody knows what CX, CX-C and CM stands for? ???
-
In CX and CM, the first C probably stands for Color.
In CX-C and CM-C, the last C probably stands for Chinese.
I'm not sure about the X (eXpanded?) and I don't know about the M.
-
Ah maybe. I was really curious personally. Maybe Xtreme :P
-
Color eXtreme, Color eXtreme Chinese, and Color Marxist Chinese :P
I seriously have no idea either.
-
Hopefully those calcs were not modified per government request to add some extra stuff in them so they can monitor what is done in them. >.>

No, that would require Wi-Fi, which bans them from tests. :P
Plus the battery drain would be pretty noticeable. Unless they're sneakily hiding data inside .tns files instead of communicating wirelessly...
-
Ah right, that's true. :P
-
The TI nspire cx-c is the same with ti nspire cx chinese languge
-
Hi and welcome to the forums. I wonder if the CX-C also includes the other languages as well? Because if I remember, the american one also included it. Is it just the keypad that is changed?
-
The TI-Nspire dock connector has saved/helped us many times... That's why TI has removed/changed it on the TI-Nspire CM-C...
According to the first TI-Nspire CM-C Docking Station image in the TI-Bank news, TI seems to have removed that connector, or made it totally unusable for us.
Note that the docking station is named "TI-Nspire CM Docking Station" and not CM-C.
So a TI-Nspire CM might be released internationally, and bring new problems for us.
Just check:
http://ti.bank.free.fr/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=1276
All this is my guess. What's your guess?
-
Hmm, maybe they remove it to make it cheaper. Normal students don't need stuff like the lab station. My guess it that it will become a budget calculator.
-
I'm guessing they will still have the same circuit board though.
-
Maybe, but I'm not sure since there is an additional led on the top, the form factor is a bit different and it has less memory.

As Jim noticed, cztian is probably a bot.
Why? His link is quite interesting, with more information on the CX-C and CM... once you manage to translate.
-
It brought me to a page full of ads, didn't see anything interesting, even when translated.
I'll check again :)
Edit: Indeed, the link just has little problem. So no bot after all :)
Thanks cztian for the link!

It linked me to a page full of girl faces :S

Remove the (Chinese) from the url :)

With the TI-Nspire CM-C, the rechargeable battery capacity is even lower...
* white optional rechargeable battery for TI-Nspire TouchPad: 1230mAh (4.55Wh)
* black rechargeable battery coming with the TI-Nspire CX: 1060mAh (3.92Wh)
Discover the TI-Nspire CM battery capacity in the TI-Bank news...

Revealed on tiplanet.org today ( http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=116610#p116610 ):
The TI-Nspire CX-C is using the same OS as the TI-Nspire CX, but they are not hardware-identic. Check:
And the question is "how"...
-
Very strange!
On the TI-Nspire CX-C, you can only use 4 languages although the OS is the same.

Nice Critor. Can it run OS 3.1 and does Ndless work on it?
-
Does the CM have the same PCB as the north american CX?
-
Nice Critor. Can it run OS 3.1 and does Ndless work on it?
Yes it can run 3.1 (it has same boot1 and boot2 versions as normal CX), and no, not ndless unless it is adapted since the OS isn't the same.
Does the CM have the same PCB as the north american CX?
No, at least not the layout, (probably a good amount of the same components though), as we can see with no-rs232, usb on the side etc.
-
I like the design.
-
Very nice pics, thanks critor! :)
-
Does that mean CM-C can not be easily expand? but it indeed has a beautiful shell and also cheaper. I like white apple style..... ....
