holy poop.

I dont think voxel is being used correctly though, since technically it is a holographic pixel representation. :|neutral.gif

Well, all 3D work on traditional computers can be considered 'incorrect', because after all the display hardware only allows for 2D representation. That's the whole beauty of it, simulating the 3D on a 2D plane.

This demo is very impressive, and is a great testament to the huge potential of the humble 68k, especially when put in the hands of such talented programmers.

I hope a full game will someday be made with this engine.

It would be cool when we can all have computers that --actually-- display 3D objects.  Games would be so much more awesome...

Not with actual depth.  Just different shades of color to give you the illusion that there's depth.  But if you had a 3D monitor where lighter colors were closer to the front and darker colors were closer to the back, it would look awesome.

I know a biochemical lab I looked into (maybe I'll study biology?) where they had applications that analyze protein structures that really gave a 3d feeling via special 3d-glasses.
Upside:
-UBER-COOL!!!!!!!!
Downside:
-The update frequency is technically halfed, because two frames together give one 3d-frame.

Tis looks like a neat possability to me for future games.
Still, I like the idea of holographics best.
