Title: Slow Updates on SirCmpwn's Projects
Post by: SirCmpwn on January 11, 2011, 10:28:49 pm
Hello,
I'd like to apologize in advance for the slow progress that my projects will be showing over the next few months.  I'm going through a difficult time, and I feel little motivation to work on anything.  I will do my best to meet the deadline for KnightOS, but I've been struggling with the same issue for weeks now.  I will try as hard as I can to have the developer preview done.  As for tiDE, I will be working on it much less.  Axe Terminal will suffer the worst hit.  I'll post the source code and the latest update after some clean up, but don't expect updates for a while.
I'm sorry if any of you were really hoping to see progress, you may have to wait a while.

Thanks for the support, and believe me, "shit happens" is an understatement.  I dont plan on abandoning the community, but rest assured if I drop any of my projects, I will release all source, notes, plans, etc, so someone else can pick it up.

Ouch, is it that bad? D:
At least you'll give us the means to continue a project should you drop one :) (I hope you won't, though)

The thing I hate most in the community is members who leave and take their projects with them.  I'd be more than happy to complete a dozen projects if I had the source.
And yes, it is that bad.

I'm sorry to hear, I hope things get better. Is it parent-related again (such as the deletion of everything) or is it due to something else? I hope nothing wrong happened with other community members either.

ANyway I hope you gain motivation again soon and I hope you stick around no matter what. It would suck to see you leave completely. And yeah I agree with you. I hate when someone loses motivation on a project and I ask him if he plans to release it if he doesn't, then he find excuses claiming it's not great enough or other crap even if it's revolutionary, then finally just vanish completly without even releasing anything. This is not as frequent nowadays but I saw it happen very often back in my early days in the community.

It's not parents, it's everything else.

Well, I do hope you can do well. I'll stop bothering about KOS unless I come up with some awesome new ideas.  Best of luck.

Several of my bigger issues were resolved today, through some incredible stroke of luck.  Progress as usual, except maybe on Terminal, which is really just a proof of concept anyway.

Me, too.  Like I mentioned on IRC, I'll just be giving up on certain issues so that they have less of an impact.

Ah ok. Yeah, to be honest, there are some things that might not be really necessary, so don't worry too much about them for now.

I'm glad you were able to get some things worked out. :) Stressing about things can really take it's toll on you.

You mean concentrating more on your projects than the rest of the stuff? Sorry, I don't really understand.

Almost. He means concentrating more on his projects and certain stuff, but not all the rest of the stuff.
