The 1st homemade Nspire full-dock connector
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:25:07 am »
You've dreamed of it? ;)

Levak made it. :)

The 1st real homemade Nspire dock connector with all 26 wires.

Just imagine everything you could do with that:
- power external peripherals
- connect a 2nd USB port
- power your Nspire externally
- connect a SD card reader
- connect a WiFi module
- ...

Spoiler For IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

Arduino based?
EDIT: Didn't catch the extra images. Looks simple considering I have a breadboard and a huge collection of LEDS and wires.

Arduino based?

Where do you see an Arduino ?

Yes, if you want you can connect an Arduino. Here is only a docking station that let you fix the Nspire in a border of the table and it won't move anymore when testing connections. It is smarter (if it is well done) to test pins and protocols than using manual an creepy connections like that

Arduino or communicating protocols is something aside

very posible and quite easy to do, actually.
The best way to do this is to dpuplicate the good wires (tx and gnd I think), link them to an externale speaker, and put a switch between the wires and the speaker so you only get sound when wanted, and then don't get weird sounds because of some real data coming out of the TX ... :P
