It's friggin huge though (over 1 MB on calc)
http://omnimaga.unitedti.org/DESUDESU.8xk
Here is it in action:

-
I could tell what it was going to be by the file size... You're bad !!! XD That is amazing though!
-
Over 1mb... More like over 3mb!
Yeah, so I downloaded this and was getting ready to send it to my calc to test this great game out when I remembered that there was a video of it in action. (I was installing something so I couldn't watch the video at the time I had downloaded it) At first I was amazed that someone had created such a huge game, then I thought I had better check that video. It's a good thing that I checked the video before I attempted to get that thing onto my calc. (if it's even possible)
-
lol you would have hated me if you sent it first and waited all the time XD
plus I think it only send using an USB cable, because apps over 300 KB huge won't transfer with the old serial cable IIRC. It gives errors at around 300 KB transfered. I never tried with tilp tho, just TI connect and graph link
-
I can't see the video(no flash), but I'm going to guess that it's a rickroll, right?
lol.
DESU DESU DESU DESU
-
lol install flash on your comp x.x
or were you at school?
And yes this is a rickroll. It's a realsound app with the first minute of rick astley - never gonna give you up
-
I just reinstalled OpenSuSE on my laptop, so it still doesn't have java, flash, etc..
-
Man, I've been calcrolled twice already... And calcrolled myself once. Because I love that song. :)
-
Nice one DJ_Omnimaga :D
I got it to run on Wabbitemu, after I got it on there and ran it, the emulator froze though :-\
-
That's hilarious XD. Nice job.
-
All he has to do know is convert the movie to calc format ;D
-
Ha! I knew what that was, because I just watched the video!
Funny idea for a realsound app though, maybe I'll use this on some people I know
-
hiya raidcal_pi and welcome here
/me wonders if / m e works here and if it does throws peanuts at Radical_Pi
-
/me catches the peanuts in his mouth and chokes on them
Yes, / me works
-
Wow... I hate Rick Astley, but not as much as Tay Zonday. Nice job though.
-
I must be one of the few people to like this song. Altough not as much as I used to since I went more into trance then eurodance and happy hardcore and then it played almost every day at work and now the internets meme :P
-
Seriously, the only song I can think of that I like less than that is "Chocolate Rain." That damn thing is five minutes long, everyother line is the same and it has this horribly repetitive piano part in the background. Essentially the entire song could be about two lines long.
-
never really listened to it much, only the first minute, and I didn't liked it
-
We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
We've know each other for so long
Your heart's been aching
But you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it
And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
(Repeat Chorus)
Give you up, give you up
Give you up, give you up
Never gonna give,
Never gonna give, give you up
Never gonna give,
Never gonna give, give you up
(Last four lines repeat)
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
(Chorus times three)

I do like it too. I don't like Rick Astley's other work very much, but I just love this song because the music's so pure and his voice's awesome. And the lyrics are so cheesy they're great! :)
-
I kinda like the song, but the cheezyness kind of ruins it for me, heh.
-
Yeah it's kinda cheesy. The similar song called Forever And Ever or Together Forever I think by him is cool too but I really don't like his other stuff either. There's nothing worse than "Backstreet Boys - Get Down" for my needs though x.x
-
I just cant wait for RS2...
-
me too, I hope it supports USB and videos
-
No way to tell, especially since Jim E has been MIA. O_o
-
really? This sucks, I hope he comes back, but he has been in the community for quite a while actually (2000-2001 and only went inactive one year?) so maybe he's moving on
-
Dunno, hes just been gone all summer. Maybe he went vacationing abroad?
-
The next internets meme needs to be Back Street Boys - Get Down
-
I was pretty sure that JimE was going to try to enter RS2 in the POTY awards this year, I might be wrong though, and he may have changed his mind.
-
He was supposed to, and zelda (spencer)
-
Wait, how can you play sound on a calculator??????
-
Could you possibly link usb8x with realsound? Then, you could literally have an .wav player on you calculator!!!

I think the unreleased RealSound 2 has that feature. But JimE seems to have disappeared...

Not to mention if the song is greater than the memory, you have to put it in parts >.<
-
To get soudn on your calculator you need a 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adapter, plus the headphones in the 3.5 mm end and plug the 2.5 mm part in the calc after running the sound program (else it freezes until you unplug the adapter). Games with sound are really really rare though and sound is not loud, so it's not really worth it to get an adapter, but maybe in the future more games will use sound.
As for the realsound app I mostly did it for the lulz
-
Wow, that seems really cool. Is there anyway to compress the songs? Or are they already compressed and still huge?
-
idk yet, compression may takes too much processor power, but on a SE calc I'm sure it could be possible. Someone just have to write the algorithm to do it. The song files are compressed but still far much bigger than mp3 files and lower quality too
-
oh ok.
-
One might be able to compress the songs on an external drive (USB), and the program (realsound2 might do it, idk) would decompress it for use in RAM...

Yeah, he was, he had it rigged up that you could stream music straight from the USB port. If you want to know the whole story, there is a thread for RS2 here (http://www.revsoft.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=284)
-
ok, thanks!

NECROSCRIPT umm omnimaga.unitedti.org doesnt exist can it be reuploaded here?
-
DAT NECROPOST
omg
(sorry I dont know about your issue :P)

DAT NECROPOST
omg
(sorry I dont know about your issue :P)
I once bumped a tread from 2003 O.O
-
Sorry I no longer have the app. It was a realsound rickroll anyway so it doesn't work on newer 84+ calcs
-
actually I have 128kb RAM on my ti-83+se
-
App is gone?
-
yes that is why I posted in the first place but! here this works http://ourl.ca/8984;msg=115845
-
App is gone?
Yeah it was hosted on my United-TI webspace until UTI shut down all sub-domains 2 years ago.
-
How do you make the video on calc look so good?
-
on-calc video? ???
-
Yes the video. How did they make it such good quality with the grayscale?
-
Oh wait you mean annoyingcalc's post? He used Truvid by Thepenguin77. I believe it's in Omnimaga and ticalc.org archives.
-
Okay. Thanks!
