ti 83+.. reviewed on engadget?
« on: April 02, 2012, 12:27:26 pm »
This was quite recent too  :o (only yesterday infact!)

http://www.engadget.com/2012/04/01/texas-instruments-ti-83-plus-review/

lol I don't know why they just decided to randomly review the 83 plus but here it is folks  ;D

edit:
Quote
Half of this review is an obvious tongue-in-cheek approach to dealing with April Fool's Day, but I'm dead serious when I say that the continued "necessity" for the TI-83 in America's education system is as glaring an example as any of just how behind we are.

oh.. :P

Loved this place, still the best producers of power metal, and sparked my dreams of coding.

I hate how TI has a total monopoly over the calculator industry. The TI83 is simply not worth the 90 bucks, yet almost literally everybody is required to buy one. Sidenote: This guy thinks Tetris is fun? He should see some of the other calc games.
I'm not worried about SOPA creating censorship, that will not stand for long. I'm worried that they'll succeed in stopping piracy!

It is fun, great classic too. But yeah we are in 2012 now, not 1999, so programming has evolved, allowing much better games to be made.

Btw Engadget reviewed like 20 electronic things yesterday, even a cellphone from the '90s.

Ah maybe. And yeah some of the older stuff is much more resistant than new stuff. Take for example the Nintendo 64 or the SNES and compare it to the Playstation 2. NES is more destructible but it lasts years lol.

Today they make electronics purposely break after a few years of use, to make people buy new ones.

I lol'd XD

I hated how old stuff was so heavy, though. My mom's fridge could not even be moved at all and when we tried to, it destroyed the floor.

They may have been heavy but they were made to last :P
I miss that about old tech....they actually weren't made as cheap as possible so they wouldn't break that easy ( Case and point; my laptop's motherboard died and it's not even a year old ).

Yeah, or see my Intel Core i7 computer a few weeks ago. I only had it for 2 years and the video card already got fried.

Btw was that pic above in reference to how Nokia phones got used to hide bombs for terrorist attacks or something?
