Title: Ti-nspire link software
Post by: casman on March 20, 2012, 09:05:01 pm
After the trial period expired I tried uninstalling then re downloading the software and it still recognized that I had not bought it and it won't let me continue with a trial version. Does anyone have any advice? Is there someway to just keep using the trial version or do I have to buy the software?

If you don't want to buy the software, you could always try tilp. ;)

There's the TI-nspire Computer Link Software (that I don't think works for CXes) for free, however TI have hidden it in an obscure link on their website. Or they removed it, hoping to promote their student software...

Nice casman! You registered on my birthday!

if you know about registry, you could modify a certain registry so you can "convert" it to full version.
If you don't know, well, TILP is your best bet.

I am still using the free Computer Link Software, which works fine enough.
Should I be switching to TiLP?
Though the link for the TI-nspire Computer Link Software on the TI website may be hard to find, or they may have actually removed it O.O

A simple deletion of all occurrences to "TI" or so in the registery doesn't help. Indeed, a backup of the registery doesn't help much more.
There are files stored nowhere in the current session that prevent from hacking. But even if you find those files and remove/restore them, the registery is still a problem.
Since it is a very hard combo, it is difficult to get rid of it. But ... randomly I can get a non-trial version, but it is a really long story and doesn't work all the time (and also doesn't work whe the first trial had expired).

They removed it, indeed, for 4 month now.

You can find it here : http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=1711
Indeed, you can't update and take screenshots with a CX, but you can still send documents.

Ah so the Computer Link Software will still function in the basic functions of sending documents which is good ;), but to update the OS for a CX then you'd need TiLP I presume.

Wow this sucks they actually deleted it. I wish they at least kept it online. I hope they don't do that with OS 3.1 when 3.2 comes out. Glad TI-Planet managed to host their old files so far.

Actually they removed it from public viewing, however I managed to find a buried link in Google Search results that may still be there ;D
