Thanks to Adriweb, here's the first photo of the TI-Nspire 1.8 OS, proving that it did exist.
It's the 1.8.0 CAS OS running on a basic TI-Nspire:

Seems the different protections can be bypassed with developer OSes and/or calculators.

I remember some rumors about 1.8 before, but then 2.0 came out. Interesting find.
Was there ever an OS 1.5 by the way?

I think there has been.
It's mentionned in this thread (3rd post):

Ah right, thanks for the link.

So OS 1.8 existed before being renamed to 2.0? Interesting :)

Wow 1.8....
When I got my calc it was running 2.0....I think.
-
Mine came with 1.3 or 1.4 installed...
-
Same : 1.4 (2007)
-
I got mine in April 2009, I guess it must've been sitting on the shelf a long time...

You can look behind it : the number at the bottom ends with something like " S - 0407 " <- this is mine, April 2007
-
Mine was manufactured in May 2008, then.

Necropost: So P-0609E means it was manufactured in June 2009. And it came with OS1.4. Lol.
