Title: WabbitEmu with a gamepad for FREE: here's how...
Post by: DJ Omnimaga on February 19, 2010, 08:48:11 pm
http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm

This software is pretty cool if you can get it to work because it lets you map keyboard keys to a gamepad, which lets you use for example WabbitEmu with a gamepad. Since it's impossible to map the entire keyboard to a gamepad you just map the most used keys, like Ctrl, Alpha, arrow keys, PageUp, PageDown, Enter, End and Del. It is enough, however, to make it considerably easier to play some calculator games over an emulator. Using the keyboard to do so is not always fun. You need to read the instructions, though, to make sure to not do anything wrong, but attached to this post, here's a config file with most keys mapped to my gamepad. Hopefully if most gamepads uses the same key mapping or a similar one, you may be able to use my config file too.

There's also an alternative to Joy2key called Xpadder, but it's no longer free.

Looks nifty. But most times the normal keys are not bad to get used and use.

I wish someone implemented Cheats Search to some calculator emulator. >_> This would only work on assembly games...
For TI-BASIC it is tricky to do such tools. The approach of see the code and the save lists will continue.

I had lots of fun doing cheat search and memory editing in GBA games. I made ultimate items in Shining Soul, for example. I doubt some of the items I made could be dropped.

You read my mind. I've been using Joy2Key with WabbitEmu for a while now; although, Spencer mentioned that gamepad support was on the to-do list. Maybe we'll see official support in a future version.

the only issue i have so far is multi keypresses, if i hold down arrows i have to release them before pressing another key, else it wont register so it can make it slower for example to shoot in Metroid II evolution, plus like with RPG maker, it won't let me use digital pad, just analog stick

I've used Xpadder before, but that was some time ago. It's not a bad idea for wabbitemu though.

It's a definite necro.  In which case, it requires:

HOLY NECROPOST BATMAN!

No, it's
HOLY UNHOLY NECROPOST, BATMAN!
Y'gotta make HOLY an adverb. Remember that now.
