Can someone send me the link or the file of the new ARPG Construction Set for the TI-83+. The full version. I can't seem to find it.
-
on ticalc when searching for ARPG Construction Set it returns the source and a service pack (you might have made a spelling mistake or a typo while searching, if you did). However, I think the source contains executables. Quite weirdly enough, the service pack update is less recent than the other file, so I am not sure if the update was applied directly in the full version later. Also I do not know if it works on XP or later. I only ever tried it under 95, 98 and 2000.

Now, if only I could figure out how to use it.
-
Good luck, it was kinda tricky to start up with. Plus, you can only have a few text, else the game gets huge fast. I only used it for 5 or 10 minutes in 2001 or 2002 so I totally forgot how it works x.x
-
Would you recommend just making my own ARPG in either Basic or Axe.
-
I personally would, because it is less limited and IIRC the way rooms are linked in ARPG Construction set gets confusing when you have many. You also can't have more than 64 tiles I think. Plus, I noticed most ARPGCS games tend to crash from time to time on Ion 1.5 or higher and OS 1.14 or higher, when exiting.

What is ARPG? Or what does it stand for?

Action Role Playing Game
-
the program which acronym is ARPG Construction set is an action-role playing game creator. You can create ASM RPGs without having to code anything. It is a bit limited, though, but you can do nice games with it if you're dedicated enough. They'll just end up quite large fast if you have a lot of text for NPC convos, and they are not very stable unless played on old OSes
-
Oh ok, so it's used to help build games like Zelda and such?
-
More like Ys, sort of, since to attack enemies you run through them. Still a bit Zelda style, though.
-
Well I don't know what Ys is, but I just looked it up real fast. Kind of looked like Final Fantasy. Is that kinda what it is? Just trying to figure out what a ARPG game play is like :)
-
ARPGCs doesn't have the whole leveling up RPG thing, though, nor an item menu. It's more simple.
Example of the best ARPGCS ever made (second news on this old version of Omnimaga front page) http://www.omnimaga.org/oldsite/index_v2.html

Ah ok, nice. What is the "CS" at the end?
-
it stands for construction set. WE often call ARPG games like that so people won't think we're talking about action RPG genre in general. Most newer people don't know, though, since ARPGCS came out in 2000

Oh ok, I get it now. Thanks :)
