Title: Who wants an Nspire CX?
Post by: ordelore on July 14, 2014, 06:17:12 pm
1) If this is in the wrong place, then admins, move it.
2) The Nspire currently does not finish booting and hangs on loading.
3) If you get it to work, then there won't be a guarantee that everything will work on it. Crafti crashed upon launch before it broke.
4) I reserve the right to refuse an offer from anyone.
Who wants it?  ^-^

I would love to take it off your hands, if you're sure you don't want it. If it's a corrupted Boot2 I could hook up an RS232 adapter and reflash it, same for the OS itself minus needing the adapter.

Have you checked if it's under warranty?

Saw the topic title. Was O.O

Anyway if that's it, getting to the diag menu and re-sending an OS should be enough. If that doesn't work, you'll have to get some HW and do a material reflashing.

If you're absolutely sure you don't want it anymore (I doubt it), I'll be oh-so-happy to have it and do my best at fixing it. I need one anyway.

Even if you don't speak French, you should go to https://tiplanet.org/forum/chat, ask for critor, Adriweb or Lionel Debroux and explain your problem there.

@will : boot2*
@matref : maintenance menu*

:D

But yeah, try the usual "repair" stuff.

You can try the steps described on the Ndless troubleshooting page (http://ndlessly.wordpress.com/ndless-troubleshooting) for a black-and white screen. If that fails, you can try an RS232 adapter or reinstalling the OS.

It all depends on when exactly it freezes - maybe boot2 is just corrupted, or worse, the bootdata area.
But sometimes the fix can be as easy as taking the battery out for a while.
