I bought a casio fx-9860G slim used, but it didn't come with its CD and If someone would be kind enough to post their driver files I would be so happy!
EDIT::: I got it working by using a different computer but mine still doesnt work
-
Did you try FA-124? Haven't used it in a while but it worked without needing a CD or anything iirc.
-
Go to this website https://edu.casio.com/download_service/en/download/cate_gc.html (https://edu.casio.com/download_service/en/download/cate_gc.html)
Now, click on the check box labelled "Support Software", then click Next. Then, download FA-124. FA-124 automatically installs the linking program (FA-124) and the drivers.
-
I have 124 Well, I got mine used and it just doesnt detect my device, can you post your driver files?
-
Those are the drivers I used for my 9860G Slim and my 9750GII and they work fine.
-
Actually, I was talking to Darl181, and I downloaded that file
should OS 0.1.10.0000
work?
-
Nope re-installing didnt work PLEASE UPLOAD DRIVER FILES!!!! I CANT GET ANY OTHER WAY WORKING!!
-
Have you clicked on the "Connect" button on FA-124 after plugging in your calculator? That is, if you've installed the newest version of FA-124.
-
Sadly I do not have any driver files myself, as I got a FX-9860G.
Also the FX-9860 Slim is discontinued so drivers for it might not even exist anymore, especially with how few people has a FX-9860G series calc, let alone a slim. This might explain why there might not be any driver, but also I think it might be against the forums rules to upload them so you might need someone to e-mail you.

Of course I did, and ok If anyone has the file pm me ill give you my email, there were loads of people at my old school with casios (of course nobody played games on them)
I thought many people would have 'em
and pm me for my email

the program used to transfer files is fa-124. When you install it, it also install the driver. Assuming you already have this program installed, you do not need any extra software.
i did a post about fx9860 files transfer (http://www.casiopeia.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=12714#p12714) some weeks ago, maybe this can help you. It is organized by extensions, but still I think it will be helpful.
My suspicions about your problem
1) Usb cable or pc usb port damaged. Try change the cable or COM port.
2) Maybe you have in Link menu, Cable Type: 3 pin, instead of the usb.
I hope my post will help you.
-
1: no, the cable is fine, I use it with my nspire, and change cable or com port I will try
2: no I have USB selected
Thanks for al the help, I hope I will find a way

By the way, do you have a 64 bits Windows install? If so, then you're screwed: FX-9860 Slim drivers are 32-bits only (unlike 9860G/GII/SD ones, which are still maintained). I'm not even sure if they'll install on anything newer than Windows XP, even in compatibility mode.

Windows XP 32-bit
Netbook Dell Latitute D420 2006 Service Pack 3
2 GB RAM 80GB Hard Drive
1.20 Ghz
Intel Core Duo CPU

Does this help?

-
Erm, no that wont detect my device either
Please help
-
- install the latest FA-124 from edu.casio.com (this will install a 32-bit or 64-bit driver)
- connect the USB cable to your calculator
- go to Link menu and set USB as the cable type, then press [F2] for "Receiving..."
- Windows should detect the new hardware and register the FA-124 driver for this device
- if it does not work: connect the calc to another USB port
- press the "Connect" symbol in FA-124 (the calc still shows "Receiving...") to enable PC communication
-
Yes, but I dont have the driver
-
Not for me, apparently I am supposed to have a disk, which I dont have, in the FA-124 manual
also I connected this once before installing Fa-124 is this anything significant?
-
Look for CESG502.SYS in your driver directory.
Under Windows XP: .\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
Under Windows 7 (64-bit): .\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers
Under Windows 7 (32-bit): .\Windows\system32\drivers
-
I dont have it
-
I have done this 3 times
-
Actually wait I was looking in the wrong directory, I have it
-
Help, I still hsvent got it working
-
Have a look at the Windows device manager and check whether Windows actually recognizes a connected USB device. Then manually assign the CESG502 driver if it isn't doing this automatically.
-
It recognizes it, but doesnt have a driver.
My dad has a masters degree in programming, he couldn't fix it, so I took my last resort option, using a different computer, and this computer works, so its kind of fixed
-
Yeah sadly with linking softwares, most of the time using a different computer is the only solution >.< (although it isn't as bad for USB-based connections).
