Title: I got a Prizm :D
Post by: Juju on August 26, 2011, 12:23:48 am
Yep, your beloved manager got a Casio Prizm. It's so wonderful.

Now I plugged my Prizm on my Windows 7 computer and nothing happened. Which is probably not good. What I do?

Also feel free to tell me what else I could do (ASM/C programming, computer programs to install, etc.).

Try rebooting and/or installing the manager trial on the CD. If that fails, then the factory debug menu has a USB test that tries to install drivers, but...

Hm, when I plugged mine into windows XP it opened up as if  it were a flash drive...

Try this.  On the Prizm, Main Menu → Link (or just press cos)
Set it so it says USB, ON, Memory.  (I think these are the defaults)
Plug in the cable, a thingy should pop up on the prizm.  Select "USB Flash", which iirc is 1.

Watch epicness unfold, no linking program needed :D
EDIT: just did it again.  It should go though this thing saying "Preparing USB" that takes about, 15 seconds?  It goes faster after the first time, tho

btw I just got one too, on wednesday ;D

Huh. Apparently I didn't completely inserted the USB cable in the calc. That was stupid. Now it works and epicness is unfolding. Behold my 16MB drive.

Now on question 2?

Nice job Juju. A new hampster dedicated user that will enjoy all of our apps.

While we're on the topic of new prizm's, my sister just ordered a prizm for school so now I'll be able to test linking programs ;D

Juju, I suggest you immediately soupe up your prizm and load Obliterate and GOL now! >:D.  Then soupe up your development environment by getting the GCC compiler/toolkit version 0.2.
